The diner is regarded as one of the best theme restaurants in New York. The 1950s-themed eatery is home to its singing waitstaff known as (”Stardusters”). Ellen’s Stardust Diner has since served as the launching pad for many of its waiters/vocalists who have gone on to success in Broadway musicals and touring companies, domestic & international. Our retro 1950s-themed diner is filled with nostalgic memorabilia including the famous “Miss Subways” gallery honoring the beauty queens of a bygone era.

My Fiance and I stumbled across this gem of a diner when we were surfing the net in the hotel lobby looking for a place to go and eat breakfast. We had no idea what was in store for us when we arrived and we certainly didn't expect to be serenaded by energetic waiting staff whilst eating our pancakes!

The diner has a 50's kitsch vibe to it and all members of waiting staff are so talented you kind of feel like they are wasted in their every day job.

In terms of the food itself, we both ordered cappuccinos and received them 'wet' as their was something wrong with the coffee machine, however the waiter reassured us that if we were not happy he would change them for us.

We ordered egg and ham breakfast roll which came with a side of fried potatoes. For me i found that the fried potatoes weren't necessary but they were lovely never the less. I also wasn't a fan of the american cheese that they melted on top but i suppose that is personal preference. In my opinion it was rich for a breakfast but there wasn't really many healthy alternatives on the menu to choose from.

We returned on our last night as we were in desperate need of our first all American cheeseburger and we were not dissapointed. The dinner menu is pretty much burger and fries but i wouldn't expect anything different from such a diner. It's also nice that they serve the burger medium rare as you get to taste the quality of the meat.

My only niggle about this place is that they do pack you in like sardines i did at one point feel like i was having dinner with about 8 different strangers and it also does get very busy so if your not into hustle and bustle this isn't the place for you. However i do think that the entertainment and the service that the waiting staff provide make up for this by a mile.

You have to go to this place ... if anything just go for the experience!

We had to line up to get into this restaurant, but it was well worth it. The food is good and reasonably priced. The star attraction is the staff. They come and serve you, then off they go and do a song and dance routine. It is really quite unique. Well worth a visit

Great music, good food, very noisy, but so much fun! My daughter and I went today before a broadway show. We were not disappointed. The singing was surprising good. The prices are a bit steep, but the food portions are huge. I guess you are paying extra for the entertainment. If you are visiting New York with your family, this is a must.

Went to lunch here today before a Broadway matinee. Great fun! The wait staff are all professional singers, dancers... Extremely talented!! In between serving meals, they choose a karaoke number and then inidividually sing for the patrons. So much fun!!! Especially enjoyed our server, Cameron from North Hills in Pgh. Hometown Girl. Sang like an angel. Would definitely recommend this place for getting in the New York spirit!! Allow plenty of time to get in as there was a pretty long wait for lunch.
