I was here for business trip. Cozy nice and Clean hotel but nothing special. Long wait for the elevator due to small building. Which is okay the only thing I didn’t like it is was the bed is soo uncomfortable. Reasonable price if you want to stay close to Times Square.
Date of stay: July 2024
Room Tip: Hotel asking for $75 a night for the city/state tax which is not mentioning on web site or 3rd...

I booked this hotel for my first trip to New York as it was in a central location. when I walked into the hotel the atmosphere was lively, the lady who served me at the desk had a bit of an attitude, when she asked for my credit card, she charged it without telling me that what the charge was for. Nonetheless I met a wonderful member of staff by the name of Mara (I hope I’ve spelt it correctly) she greeted me at the lift and we had a small conversation about my trip to New York, she was super friendly and made me feel right at home especially as I was on a solo trip.

The room was nice and compact with everything in one room. It was so cozy and clean. Hairdryer, steam iron and fridge were also in the room, the fridge came in handy for snacks, cakes and drinks lol. There was also shampoo, conditioner and shower gel.
The tv was great (loved the American channels) so didn’t have the need to use Netflix or anything else as I was entertained. I was there for 5 days but out nearly everyday. On my first night I came back to being guest of the day which then made my day. They had a bar and other amenities but I never used them due to wanting to explore New York but it was busy everyday and the atmosphere was friendly and vibrant. I would definitely recommend this hotel as it’s right smack in the middle of everything and Times Square is a stones throw away.

The only cons were that if you have noisy next door neighbours you will hear them through the walls, someone’s phone alarm kept waking me up at 3am through the walls and was quiet annoying and then the same room decided to have a loud screaming argument on the last day of my trip, but the front desk sorted it quiet quickly.

What a great hotel! It was modern and clean with a great view of the city. I went with a friend, and as two female travelers on our own I can honestly say we felt extremely safe at this hotel. The hotel itself is in a good are but also the hotel has 24 hour security in the lobby. So I really felt safe there which was really important to me when I was planning the trip. It's also really close and within walking distance to just about anything you would want to do in and around times square. During our trip we enjoyed shopping, museums, and broadway shows - all of which we were able to walk to. I was worried about the size of the room for two people. We did a single queen bed room for two. I have to say it felt like more than enough space for the two of us. If you are going with a group I would recommend calling and requesting rooms next to each other because the also offer connecting rooms at this hotel. Overall a great hotel and a experience. I would absolutely stay again and recommend to friends and family looking for a place to say in times square.

Last month, I visited New York City to celebrate my birthday and work from my firm's NY office, and I wanted a unique hotel experience this time. I spent a couple of days at the Motto, a new Hilton Collection hotel, and absolutely loved my experience.

The rooms are small but comfortable and functional, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Times Square and within walking distance to major city attractions. I felt safe with a good balance of privacy and quiet in my room.

There’s plenty of public parking garages in the area.

However, business travelers should note that the rooms don’t have desks, and the lobby is tiny and very busy, which isn't conducive to work. But for travelers who just need a room to sleep, rest, and be in a centrally located and accessible hotel, Motto is a fantastic choice.

My son's NYC vacation plans fell through leaving him with an extra ticket to see Messi play soccer in New Jersey. So, he took his Mama instead! The Motto location is perfectly situated in Manhattan, just around the corner from the magical experience of Times Square with mega billboards and bright lights, bustling with people and entertainment.

The service at the Motto is top-notch with one exception. Our flight was delayed more than 4 hours and although we called, they did not hold our room (Messi fans flooding the area). They graciously provided us with an upgraded room at hotel one block away. We walked and rolled our luggage to that hotel at 2am in the morning which felt safe but was probably risky. I'd take off 1/2 a star for that if I could, but I can't, so it keeps 5 stars because they were nice, apologetic, and it was an upgraded room. The next day our room at the Motto was available, and boy, was it nice!

These are compact rooms with an impressive, brilliant design. You won't be inside very much because, after all, it's NYC..so the size was perfect! We had everything we needed to be well-organized. The amenities included a full-sized steamer, a hair dryer, and plenty space for 2 people to hang multiple outfits for the next day. There's a wall ledge big enough to roll luggage underneath, work on laptop, or use as a table for eating meals. The huge TV was nice, too! There's also two extra seats including a modern fold out strappy seat and a really cute ottoman. There's plenty of vanity space for toiletries or makeup. They also provide a wonderful shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, handwash, and a wonderful smelling lotion that relieves tired feet! Another brilliant idea!

One thing to be aware of, is colored glass on the toilet area is not see through, but the the colored glass on the shower is definitely see through. When one of us showered, the other left the room which presented the opportunity to go people-watch, use the nice gym, or explore outside so it wasn't much of an inconvenience for us. The lobby decor was not my favorite, busy flooring with rather plain walls and lighting, not as relaxing or as glamorous as it could be. The elevators are extremely fast, stopping on the floor punched in on the keypad. We were on the 21st floor with an incredible partial view! The window opened about 1.5 inches, so I could hear the city sounds any time I opened it, which I really enjoyed.

We had the bunk bed over a queen bed which provided a sense of privacy for both spaces. I didn't think I would like the bunk beds, but I actually really liked them. In fact, I recommend them. Each bed had 1 or 2 wall chargers at the headboard which was convenient. I slept like a baby on the luxurious mattress with beautifully soft pillows. There is no coffee-maker in the room, but there is a coffee shop in the lobby that is nice spot for mingling or enjoying some downtime. We did not dine at the hotel restaurant because it's a bit pricey. Our room was nicely cleaned each day while we were out. The fridge is stocked with two types of water daily, and the snacks are refilled daily.

And...there's more; the room had a gift bag that blew me away! It contained a really magnificent coffee cup with their logo, mints with their logo, and much more! The Motto is a great hotel, in a great location, that gave me the experience of a lifetime! I highly recommend this hotel. All of the staff are friendly and I would definitely stay here again. It is well worth every penny!

Room tip: The shower glass was see through so depending on your party, plan accordingly.
