My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hilton Motto for my birthday visit to NYC. I work in travel and wanted to try this property after it opened last year. I had written to the hotel advising it that it was my birthday to see if anything special could be done to our stay. This hadn’t been communicated so made the reception team aware…worth a shot! I have seen balloons in peoples rooms and cards etc but this hadn’t been done for us.
The hotel is such a prime location in Times Square and is next to the Hilton Hampton. We felt very safe and really enjoyed our stay. The reception team were lovely, there is a nice lounge area as you enter the hotel and the lifts are very safe. Sally is an absolute asset to the hotel - when we checked in, we saw our room and I had requested a high room with a view of Times Square which we hadn’t been allocated, so Sally offered to show us a few different rooms to which we ended up moving and had a very pleasurable stay.
Sally was also very helpful with recommendations on bars and restaurants - we had done our research but wanted a local opinion on what was good/not so good to visit. She was so lovely and made our stay even better. We also get $10 a day to spend on food and drinks - I’m not sure if this was because were HH members, but it was a nice personal touch and helped with our expenses for breakfast as NYC is very expensive and we were on a room only rate.
One thing I will say, this hotel is perfect for a city traveller. The rooms are quite small but this is normal for this type of city. We went off for the day and would come back around 4/5ish to freshen up for the evening, enjoying the room and Netflix available via the TV before going out again. There isn’t a separate bathroom, it’s separated by a sliding door. Each room has a connecting door should you be staying with others which I personally didn’t like as it didn’t feel completely secure and private (obviously next door couldn’t just walk in) but I was surprised every room had this functionality as we had asked to move to one a room without this - something to be aware of.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would return to this property. Sally was amazing and really helped make our stay as special as it could be..
