A very fine hotel with extremely generous rooms in NYC terms. The large room was very comfortable and the bed was awesome! Some of the suites have balconies. Location is good for those who want to stay around Times Square. Had only breakfasts at the Gaby restaurant and they were fabulous. First time here and it's a beautiful find.

Great location, close to train, shopping, theater and great restaurants. Very quiet and luxurious. We stayed on the 24th floor with a deck which was amazing. Very clean with a helpful staff. Had a great stay!

We recently stayed 4 evenings at the Sofitel, with great success.

As other have mentioned the location is superb for leisure travelers. The theater district is just a block or two away, there are great restaurants in the area and shopping and museums are just a 10-15 minute walk.

As with many New York City hotels, the rooms are on the smallish side and the closet and drawer space is limited. Still the rooms are attractive, well-maintained and feature wonderful beds and linens.

The values, for this standard of hotel, are excellent.

But what sets the Sofitel apart from the others is the warm, personalized service. The staff warmly welcomed us and extended a high level of warm, personalized service. The restaurant waiters took great care of us and set aside a table for us each morning.

We'll be back for our next visit to New York -- we hope it's soon!

Room Tip: Upgrade when you can. The rooms on the higher floors offer good views and, in most cases, are more spacious

The location of the hotel was central to the fabulous time we had in NYC- we could walk to so many places we wanted to go and at night we could walk home from so many events rather than having to catch the subway. But also the cleanliness of the hotel was excellent, the breakfasts were great and while we did not have a lot of interaction with the staff overall ( we were out all day and half the night) those with whom we did interact were always friendly, efficient and competent. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed at this hotel with family for a 5 night city break in New York. Great location within walking distance of many of the must see sights. Grand Central Station is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. This was our stop of spot for snacks and simple eats while we were there as well as trying to take in the ambience of the building and the volume of commuters using the station. Rooms were comfortable and a good size. The bathroom was top notch with the separate shower cubicle. We were located on the 12 floor without a fancy view, which wasn't a big deal for us. We ate breakfast in the restaurant twice and though expensive was worth paying the extra price for the quality, quantity and service. The price was on par with similar hotels in London. The only let down for us was they couldn't fulfil our request for interconnecting rooms. I was travelling with my mum and sister and really would have welcomed being able to access the two rooms without having to walk along the hallway.
