Average experience…

Very nice location in the heart of the vibrant Soho neighborhood. Restaurant, bar and assets like view, rooftop with pool are the big +. Le Labo amenities are also appreciated.

Otherwise, everything in this hotel is pretty average and sometimes even disappointing. Our room was kinda small, the bed seemed like not even queen sized, and some details like cleanliness, services, fournitures, welcome pack didn’t meet our expectation, especially for a supposed 5 star hotel.

Also most of the staff is cold, not really experience oriented (especially the girl at the rooftop). Besides, be careful and aware that when you stay at the 17th floor, it is very noisy.

Don’t get me wrong, overall it was an OK experience and the rate was OK as well for NYC. But don’t be too picky ! Working in hospitality myself, I can assert that in Europe this hotel would rate as a 4 star.

Disappointing “5 Star” experience

This hotel has no lobby for sitting or lounging. The a/c in the bar was out so it was also not a pleasant place to relax. When we checked in we were not offered assistance up to our room. One of the two elevators that services the rooms was out of service our whole trip. This meant that we spent a significant amount of time waiting for the elevator, and when it arrived, it was often too crowded to board. We were only on the 4th floor and attempted to use the stairs but the service stairs were cluttered with cleaning supplies, high chairs, and even a ping pong table. This was not a pleasant nor safe way to come and go from our room. The room was cleaned to bare minimum standards. We noted some black mildew on the hand held shower nozzle but it was never addressed. I will not be staying at this property in the future. The only thing positive I can say is that the room was very quiet despite being on the 4th floor overlooking 6th Ave.

Terrible Experience - Unsafe, Dirty, and Poorly Managed

This "luxury" hotel is a joke, especially with Kori as the so-called manager. He dodges responsibility, leaving issues unresolved and staff clueless. The pool was a disaster—loose tiles that my kids and I had to fish out, broken glass, and no lifeguards enforcing rules while drunk guests ran wild. Service was painfully slow; waited 30+ minutes for the wrong order. Rooms were dirty and not worth the $300+ price. Management is rude and dismissive, with zero effort to fix anything. Don’t waste your money here—it’s unsafe, filthy, and poorly managed.

We are sorry your experience was not up to the ModernHaus standard. We received your original email back in May regarding your experience and attempted to reach out multiple times with no response. We could not find your name in our system either. You stated that there was no breakfast available, we do have breakfast available daily at Jumpin Jacks from 7am to 11am. You stated that the rooftop was closed during your stay, between Labor Day and Memorial Day the rooftop opens at 5pm. Only when the pool is open is the rooftop available to our guests before 5pm. If you stayed here prior to Memorial Day, the pool would not be accessible outside of the Jimmy hours – so we are unsure how your kids experienced the pool as it was closed. Regarding the staff being rude and dismissive, I truly apologize if that was the case and would like to hear more constructive feedback as to how we can improve so no guest ever has that experience.”

awful

This is not a 5 star hotel. The location is excellent and the bar in the restaurant is great! The rooms and awful and tired. Window are filthy. Only one elevator works. Furniture throughout the property is old and tired. Stay at a true 5 star hotel if you are searching for luxury. This is a far cry from that.

Favorite hotel in NYC

Incredible location, great service, & great on-site dining.

I don’t see myself staying anywhere else.. SoHo, West Village, Meatpacking District are all walking distance from this property.

Special shoutout to Kristy! She took exceptionally great care of us & deserves the praise. She made our stay even more comfortable & accommodating
