I just had a wonderful 4 night stay at ModernHaus Soho. I was meeting with friends but staying at the hotel by myself. As a result the most outstanding thing for me was that I felt perfectly safe staying at the hotel and in the area.

You are a walk away from Soho, East Village, Battery Park and the Piers. If you do want to try the subway, Canal St station is just behind the hotel.

The staff were all very lovely and super helpful with restaurant recommendations, grabbing a massage locally and organising airport transport. They also checked in everyday via text to see if they could do anything for me. A special shout out to Kenny who made sure I knew where I was headed every time I left.

The rooftop pool is a lovely touch especially during the crazy heatwave. Sadly I didn't get a chance to frequent Jimmys or 23Grand but only because NY has so much to offer that I just didn't get a chance but they looked lovely.

My room was spacious and had great views...even from the shower! Providing filtered water is a nice touch. However as a non coffee drinker, I would have liked a tea option in my room.

I had breakfast on my last day at Jumpin Jacks which was yummy.

I would absolutely stay here again and look forward to doing so in the future.

I guess it’s just New York prices but on top of the room rate, the $50 a day extra charge to use a pool that always seem to be busy or unattended seemed steep. Average gym facilities and a breakfast menu that doesn’t seem to know what fruit and vegetables are.
The room was good though, it was a good location and service was decent. Not for anyone on a budget!

The unfriendly staff towards BIPOC guests is unmatched. It’s sad because the staff who were rude were BIPOC themselves. Think not opening doors, or greeting as you check in or walk out. Not even telling you where the elevator is! Please tell your check in host to work on his customer service.

The elevator is not air conditioned and in the summer, this is highly uncomfortable given the supposed luxury vibe the hotel is supposed to have. The room was nice enough though and the lobby was very beautiful. Jack’s lounge also had a great matcha. The Le Labo toiletries were a lovely touch.
