Imagine lounging in bed, savoring a ham & cheese baguette with coffee, firing off work emails, all while soaking in jaw-dropping views of the Empire State Building. Yep, that can be you too, but let's rewind 18 hours...
With some Marriott Bonvoy points burning a hole in our pockets and no chance to travel out of state, we decided on a Manhattan staycation. Moxy Chelsea, near our favorite restaurants and activities, seemed like the perfect choice. Having experienced the Moxy brand in Miami, we knew what to generally expect.
We arrived at Moxy on a busy Sunday night. The lobby was alive with neon lights, a massive floral arrangement, and upbeat music—classic Moxy vibes. Despite the crowd, check-in was a breeze.
Enter Tristan, the super friendly and efficient check-in maestro. After some small talk, we mentioned we were only staying one night and asked for a room with a cool view. Tristan, with a twinkle in his eye, gave us the "Don't worry, I got you" look. He quickly ran through the hotel amenities, made sure we were all set, and sent us on our way.
A swift elevator ride later, ears popping, we reached near the top of the hotel. Opening the room door: boom. There it was—the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, Hudson Yards, all in sight. For a New Yorker used to low-floor living, this was a breathtaking, tourist-in-my-own-city moment.
After gawking at the view, we turned our attention to the room. Compact, yes, but oh-so-efficient. Plenty of pegs for clothes, under-bed storage, a fold-down table—everything had its place. Most importantly, it was comfy: a quality bed, strong AC, good water pressure and fast WiFi. Just what we needed.
We headed out for some mini golf and dinner in Ktown, both just a short walk away. Returning to the room, we were greeted by a skyline ablaze with lights. We debated leaving the blinds open to fall asleep to the Empire State Building's glow but decided against it since the morning sun would flood the room.
Spending over a decade in NYC can make you jaded, but sometimes you need a reminder of why this city is so magical. A spectacular midtown view did just that, making us fall in love with the city all over again. Huge thanks to Tristan for making our stay unforgettable!
