I had a good experience here recovering from surgery. Comfortable clean rooms, very quiet street, lots of sunlight, enough storage space, helpful staff. One thing to note is that each apartment is a little different, so if you care about certain room aspects, definitely call about a week before your arrival to check about the specific room you’re getting and what it has.

My husband and I were guests at the AKA residential hotel from the beginning of September 2023 to March 3, 2024. This was in fact, a stressful time for us, as we had sold our apartment and were preparing to move into a new one. We had rented a furnished one bedroom apartment. The living area was exceptionally spacious, and I loved the desk. This was extremely important as I work virtually
But what was really outstanding about this hotel? It was the staffing. To a person they were supportive, kind, responsive and always available. From the Manager, JJ, the assistant manager, Spencer to every concierge and Porter. There was someone available 24 hours a day.
When we needed an apartment change, they helped us move and found us a space that suited us. When there was servicing needed, they made another suite available for me, so that I could work in privacy. The engineering department and porters followed suit. There was nothing that one asked of them that they could not or would not do with grace.and skill.
The most surprising and lovely experience occurred on our last day at AKA. March 3 and time to move. Our new home was only a few blocks away. We had many clothes and the items we had purchased to make our stay even more pleasant. The concierges who were present and even those who were not did everything to facilitate our move. They basically got together and moved us, and so saved us a great deal of time, money, and anxiety.

AKA Sutton Place is a desirable extended stay hotel with a wonderfully convenient and quiet location on East 56th Street. The charming building is well furnished with comfortable apartments (especially so on the Penthouse floors) as well as elegant public spaces including a very nice bar. The property is also blessed with a professional, competent, extraordinarily caring and helpful team. Due to unexpected illness my husband and I were guests of the hotel for well over a year. Throughout our stay we felt completely at home; nothing was too much bother for each member of the staff and shining through was a genuine desire to meet our needs in a thoughtful and unobtrusive way. It was always a pleasure entering or exiting the building – the warm greeting from whomever was at the front desk was a delightful way to start or end a day. As in April 2022 it was a great pleasure to stay at AKA Sutton Place and I look forward to the next visit.

We have been coming to this property for many, many years. The staff is second to none, they make you feel at home.
The property has amazing amenities, like a swimming pool, gym, wine room, full laundry, nice living area with fireplace, movie room, bar, etc etc.
We would never consider a traditional hotel over AKA Sutton Place in NYC, simply because it is the best in town. We tried other AKA's in NYC but Sutton place is # 1
The suites needs some updating due not the pass of the years, but they are in reasonable conditions.
Once you try it you'll never come back to a hotel...

I stayed 6 months at the hotel and everything went very well. The hotel is perfectly placed in midtown east, close to everything and in a calm area. All the receptionist have been so lovely with me! I recommend!
