This little hotel has alot to offer. The best part is that you are literally on the boardwalk. We walked every where. If you are looking for a luxury hotel. This isnt it, but the rates are very good. The Location is awesome. The rooms were not bad. In my experience most of the hotels in California do not have good ventilation or air conditioning. We just opened the windows. The suites are also roomy.

Thank you for your review. We are in the process of renovating the entire property. When we are finished, we will have air conditioning as well. This should make a significant difference.

We booked this hotel because of the location and how close it was to the beach and after reading the reviews and seeing the manager say it was updated we thought we'd give this place a shot.... besides the location this was the worse choice we could have made. The paint in the tub is pilling and there are stains all in the carpet. The lampshades by the bed are broke. After the first night we woke up with flying ants on the top of the mini fridge handle, and a couple were on the bed. The front desk literally told us what do you want me to do about it. Again besides being in a great location to restaurants and the beach, I don't think we will ever stay here again. Would rather pay more money for the hotel literally right across the street.

I am very sorry for the misunderstanding about the upcoming renovation. We are scheduled to start this finally next Monday. I hope after we complete this, that you will give us another try at the return guest rate.

Great location right on the boardwalk and beach. We've been staying here for 4-5 years in the 2nd floor room with the patio overlooking the beach. Love the view and ocean breezes. The rooms have a small fridge, 2-burner stove top, microwave, dishes, and decent sized kitchen area with table. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. The cleaning staff was friendly and helpful. The prices are very reasonable for the fantastic location right on the beach. We love that the place is a short walk to numerous restaurants, a grocery store, and lots of clubs/bars.
On the downside, the place needs work. The cabinet under the kitchen sink was falling off the hinges. Stucco on the outdoor patio wall has been missing a big corner chunk for years. The wooden blinds are minimally functional, so we don't even try to adjust them - just live with it. Water damage on the window sills hasn't been fixed or painted for years. Unlike other reviews, our bathroom was in fine condition.
Parking spaces are very limited, so we had to park at the sister property a few blocks away one night.

We are finally addressing all of the issues that were mentioned. As for the balconies, we keep painting the steel. We had the company that installed the glass that replaced the metal, remove as much of the steel as possible and were left with what you see now. I am hoping we will be doing some external work as well while we renew the entire interior.

We stayed in room 111, this was the worst room ever, no ventilation as it is one the bottom floor with a building in front of it. We had a fan but was broken, asked for another was told they didn't have any. They did have ceiling fans, which helped, but the bedroom was very hot and not air movement. The tub was chipped and the shower curtain ripped. The sofa bed was a joke, hard as a brick, we ended up putting the cushions from the couch on the bottom and put the mattress over it. That helped a little bit, but it was good that two children were sleeping there instead of two adults. The kitchen had a small refrigerator and a stove, the silverware and plates were minimum. We were expecting a little more that what we got and hope that maybe the rooms on the other side were better. There was no screen on the living room window so made it hard to open it for any fresh air. They should really consider doing some more upgrades as this could be nice, but just not this room.

Room Tip: Do not stay in room 110 or 111, bottom floor.

Thank you staying with us! We do hope you will try us again after we complete our full renovation. We are about half way finished with the renovation in the first half of the property, and should be completely done very soon.

Downing the weekend here. From cracked tiles in the bath and closet rack falling off the wall to rusted out legs on the bathroom vanity. Even the television doesn't work. The only good thing about this hotel is its location. We rented a room with a kitchen, free dead bugs on the coffee cups! The room had one towel, no extra toilet paper, no coffee, filters, no kitchen towels for dishes, no face towels... let's just say that this is a room. Nothing more. For the extra $20 book a room at another hotel. Would not recommend or ever stay here again.

We have just started a renovation on this property, and it will make it one of the nicest inexpensive places to stay on the boardwalk. I'm sorry for the condition of the room, and do hope you will try us again when we have completed the changes.
