Rooms are really small, but if you're not spending a lot of time here, it shouldn't matter. My particular room had a terrible view (HVAC, internal view) but at least they added a fun giraffe statue to make up for it. Everything here was VERY clean.. .which is my number one requirement in a hotel. The focal point bonus here is the amazing rooftop, where there is a pool, bar, lounge, lots of great seating options, and stellar views. Only issue was the party that happened on Sunday afternoon which was a bunch of 20-somethings invading the entire space and pool; causing a number of our group (here for a conference) to leave the area. Not sure if this is a regular occurrence or not; the space is great otherwise.

Room Tip: Don't get an "internal-facing" room... terrible views.

I stayed at the Andaz San Diego with my 2 daughters, 7 and 9 years old.
We had a Andaz suite which was very nice and perfect size for the 3 of us.
Shower was great. The roof top is very nice, we had breakfast up there every morning and used the pool too.
Staff was very friendly and made us feel welcomed.

Nice hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Room 330 was extremely quiet. Shower has a slow leak. Our sink mysteriously backed up with black liquid while we were out for dinner. The Rooftop bar is going to tarnish this quaint hotel's image (extremely poor service - avoid).

Both staff members who checked us in and out were very friendly and helpful. The interior of the lobby and room were both very nice looking and modern. We had an interior room so we didn't hear any street noise, but we were right behind the elevators so there was some noise from that. We did have some issues including the mini fridge that did not work at all, no hot water in the bathroom sink, and the makeup mirror in the bathroom was so low that I had to bend way over to use it (which was uncomfortable and also meant my hair kept falling in my face as I tried to apply makeup). Perhaps this was a handicap accessible room and that was why it was so low?? The biggest problem for us was that there was no privacy in the bathroom...not just to the shower as other people have mentioned, but to the toilet, too! I get that the no-privacy shower might be a sexy feature for couples, but what's sexy about watching your significant other use the toilet?! Even my husband was uncomfortable enough with it that he decided to "hold it" until after checkout.

Room Tip: Interior rooms are quiet, but dark and just a view of other room windows
