Place was nice, clean, and the general location is great, however, for the price, there are a few things that were not up to par. Sonder's customer service, while friendly and well-intentioned, did little to alleviate these:
1. Getting packages delivered is a nightmare. You would think for a place that bills itself as a long-term high-quality rental, that they would have figured out to allow guests to get packages delivered - nope. They recommended using some random delivery locations scattered around the city, most of which require you to know which specific carrier will be delivering your package. Completely impractical.
2. Sonders are supposed to come with "all kitchen essentials," and yet there was no blender in the apartment. When I asked, I was told it's not considered essential. After some back and forth about what an odd and subjective line that was to draw, they offered to refund me $20 so I could buy a blender. Not sure what blender costs $20...
3. The location of this particular apartment is generally good, because it's in what most would consider the best neighborhood in San Diego, however, it also happens to be on a block with a Seven-11 that attracts all of the homeless people in said neighborhood. This again calls the steep price of the place into question for me.More
