I have always liked grand Circle because of the educational experience and that value. However, they’ve made recent changes to their service. I booked a trip to Lyon and they sent me a letter saying I had a double bed and not two twins. There are two women traveling together and we won’t fit in a double bed. I went to change to a twin bed and they charged me $1000. I could’ve canceled but then we would’ve been able to go and it was an important eventfor my daughter’s graduation from college with her masters. Highly disappointed with Grand Circle. Especially since they knew there were issues-they sent me the letter!

I just returned from the Christmas Market River Tour on the Rhine. What a wonderful experience. GCT has been operating for over 65 years. The crew from the captain to the cleaning crew were wonderful. The optional tours were excellent as were the program directors. Our hotel during our pre-trip in Basel was exceptional. The food onboard was delicious and bountiful. The ship was kept spotless. Fun activities onboard from having our shoes filled overnight on St. Nicholas night to happy hours to wonderful musical entertainment and a glassblower were exceptional. The walking tours were interesting and educational at the same time.

I had a situation in one of the towns that required assistance. My program director and hotel manager rose to the moment to assist me and GCT actually loaned me money to deal with the situation.

The air arrangements were priced reasonably. We were met at the airport and taken straight to the hotel for the pre-trip.

GCT may not be as luxurious as some companies, but their prices are reasonable, service is excellent as is the food. My only complaint was the hotel at our post trip in Belgium. It was lovely, but the staff was not very accommodating.

I highly recommend this company.

The crew and staff were the best ever and I’ve traveled a lot. The food was outstanding, both in taste and presentation. Most of my photos were food pics! Highly recommend this trip.
