The Ames Hotel is fantastically located for a visit to Boston. The hotel is in the US's first sky scraper, opposite the Old State House with a metro station close by. The heritage trail runs close to the hotel. Within a few steps of the hotel is a whole range of coffee shops and restaurants where breakfast can be picked up including the ubiquitous Starbucks. There is also a drugstore nearby where you can buy all those supplies you might need.
The hotel is modern and trendy with orange being one of the key colours that is used. The bedrooms are modern and functional whilst still being comfortable. It has a distinct male feel to the design.
There was free wifi which was reliable.
The hotel didn't have a licence to sell alcohol during our stay, but my understanding is that is being applied for and shouldn't be too long coming.
I would certainly consider returning to this hotel when I am next in Boston.More
