First of all, Sharpsburg is a quaint little friendly town with a lot of history. The Jacob Rohrbach Inn is an historical place of comfort. The owners, Chris and Amy are very nice. The breakfast were totally amazing. We stayed in the Generals Quarters which is a private building which was once the out kitchen for the Inn. The place was decorated so nice and everything was spotlessly clean.
Being here in October means Halloween decorations. The Inn has some fantastic ones. A lot homes and businesses also do a lot of decorating.
We did a trip package with the Inn which included our B&B stay, a guided tour of Antietam, a fifty dollar gift card to use towards a dinner or whatever and a five dollar gift certificate for Nutters Ice Cream.
The area doesn’t have a lot of dining establishments but wherever we ate was pretty good. Be prepared to pay cash as most places to dine do not accept credit cards.
Would we come back again? Most definitely YES.

My husband and I had a wonderful get-away. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The furnishing coupled with modern amenities within the inn transported us back in time, creating an authentic experience. The snacks and breakfast were homemade and delicious!

Even in COVID times we felt fine staying here. The queen bed in the Harpur's Ferry suite was firm. Several little pleasantries like snacks and drinks were available to us. The breakfast was two 'courses' and fresh and tasty. They had a 'ghost story' talk one night with a local historian. The Vincents were very good hosts. I would stay here again if the occasion arose. No hesitation in recommending it to others!

The Inn was clean and properly enacting Covid precautions. Chris provided an excellent tour of the Antietam battlefield complete with a personal connection. He and Amy provided excellent service with a fantastic breakfast. The Antietam room was quiet and comfortable.
