Excellent hotel within a minute's walk from Union Square - great for getting to the tourist buses and within reasonable walking distance for various tourist spots, or a short Uber ride away.

We got a warm welcome with a glass of bubbles upon arrival. The rooms are well stocked with regular water top-ups, twice a day room service. There is also wine & cheese at 5.30 each evening which is a nice touch and a good way to meet some of the other residents.

Couple of things which meant we scored it four rather than five. In the room, the clothes storage/closet was in the bathroom, which was a bizarre design, and a pain when you're a couple and one of you is using the bathroom while the other is trying to get dressed. Also the breakfast, while tasty, was very bread/pastry heavy - a bit more of a mix would have been good. Maybe being picky, but honest!

Overall though, when we return to SF we will be back.

We had a great stay at the Inn at Union Square. We had a lovely room, with a separate sitting room which meant we could really relax and enjoy the room. Breakfast was amazing and a great choice, we enjoyed the smoked salmon bagels and the yoghurt granola with fresh fruit particularly! Wine and cheese in evening was also a nice touch. We would definitely recommend staying here if you are in SF, way better than any chain!

We had a great time! The value by staying here was unbelievable! The breakfast was excellent and with the wine and cheese reception and water in our room it saved us a lot of money in this very expensive city! Everyone there was super helpful and friendly. Our room was perfect for us with 2 comfy chairs and a table to sit and relax. The location was awesome too. We usually stay at large chain hotels and we're very happy that we didn't this time!

The City was packed for a conference, so we decided to not book at our mainstay corporate hotels for a more cosy, relaxed feel. The Inn at the Square came highly recommended and we were excited to try a new place.
It's such a fabulous location, but we were astounded by the quality of the front desk, and other staffers who work at the darling place. The rooms were just perfect and supremely lovely and quiet.
We stayed for two nights but are looking forward to a future visit.
It's perfect!

My husband and I just spent a wonderful week at The Inn. The location could not be better, right next to Union Square and cable car stop. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the are beds comfy with high quality linen. The afternoon wine and cheese gave us the opportunity to meet and chat with travelers from all over the world and we shared tips and stories. We have been to SFO many times but now we have discovered The Inn we wouldn't stay anywhere else.
