From the pictures on the website, I expected the room to be far brighter and cheerful. In fact the room was rather dreary - needing a make-over in my opinion. The bathroom was functional and had all that one needed. The picture quality of the TV in the room was poor.
The hotel is somewhat 'out of town', but there was a good shuttle service connecting a number of hotels.
The greatest disappointment was the breakfast. I am not used to eating off paper plates with plastic knives, forks and spoons. What a pity that the fruit salad was canned, and the hot offerings of what were called omelettes (I think) and sausages was awful. It lacked any finesse right down to even the bread.
Bikers park their bikes in front of the hotel and if your room happens to be overlooking the main road, you will have the pleasure of hearing them check the noise level of their bikes before they depart early in the morning.

Room tip: Our room faced the main road and front parking. There was little traffic noise during the night. See comment above about bikers.

Major road work that must have been planned for months before our stay created a 5 mile detour for return to hotel from town (expected less than a mile). No mention of this major inconvenience ahead of time on website and no reduction in room rate. Very inconvenient.

Staff was really nasty - especially for the really poor breakfast buffet. Maid service very poor.

Clean and comfortable rooms; great breakfast (included!) every morning. Very helpful and friendly staff and s’mores night (also included!) twice per week. Very close to Acadia National Park. Would definitely recommend staying here!

We chose this hotel primarily for two reasons. It is on the shuttle bus route and it provides a complimentary breakfast. We weren't disappointed. The shuttle bus allowed us to park our car when we checked in and didn't move it for the entire length of our stay. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful(Walter booked a nature cruise for us and got a discount). The breakfast was basic, but decent- best thing was the french toast.

Due to the time of year,September, we didn't try some of the amenities, like the pool or firepit, but there seems to be a variety of activities, like movies with free popcorn and snacks in the late afternoon. We did hike to the trail in the park which was well marked and pretty easy walking.

The room itself was clean and updated. The bathroom was nice with a good shower. My only gripe with the room was lack of hooks in the bathroom, but that seems to be the trend.
I would gladly book the Acadia Inn again if I am back in Bar Harbor.

Our clean, sufficiently spacious room was on the first floor. To our pleasant surprise, it's main floor location proved quiet. Room itself had been updated and our king sized bed was quite comfortable. Lobby, housekeeping, and its breakfast staff - all excellent; even found my wife's phone charger. Special kudos to Walter, very helpful with suggestions/arrangements. Breakfast offering while much appreciated was just adequate (quality wise). We recommend the Acadia Inn.
