We enjoyed our time here at the Wonderview. It reminded me of the older Style motor inn of the 1970’s. That being said, set your expectations and you will really enjoyed it.
The king bed was comfortable, clean rooms, continental free breakfast, great free amenities at the sister location next door, the Bluenose - use of a large heated pool and hot tub. One evening we listened live piano music by the fireplace at the Bluenose Inn. There is a free shuttle bus that takes you into Acadia National Park or you can drive a short distance with your car and explore the gorgeous scenery on your own. We ate dinner at the Looking Glass restaurant on the property, very nice meal, a little pricey. The Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.
The view is overgrown with trees which is unfortunate. That’s why you read Trip advisor first! The trees cannot be cut as they are part of park land so expect a view. Not to worry, spectacular views are minutes away.
At the time of our visit, a long term road project was about to be completed - there were detours.
Yes, you are on an island so you can be awaken by the fog horns on foggy days, it is part of the charm.
