I don't know if our experience was representative but the place was virtually empty. Everything is falling apart, and it felt like we had entered into the shinning movie set.
The bathroom was much better than the rest of the room. There were stains everywhere and the curtains were old and dusty. Also everything Is in Japanese and the guy at the desk a middle aged Japanese man was extremely weird. I called reception to get wifi. He kept repeating instructions that's were not working. At some point he pretended that he couldn't hear me and laid the phone down.
We checked out the different areas, more like a field experiment than really interested in using any of the facilities. The pool is closed and clearly abandoned, the breakfast place is terrifying. Of course we didn't have breakfast since they have such low turnover I can only imagine the quality of the food!
Really a very poor place.

What makes Starts stand out is its people. Everyone is so friendly there. Which is not really surprising, because majority of Starts' employees are Filipinos, even if they may have already acquired US citizenship. The Starts employees really go out of their way to serve, and to ensure that everything is perfect.

The rooms at Starts are spacious and clean. However, they may already be due for some renovation because we saw some areas where the paint is already peeling.

Facilities-wise, Starts is okay. It has a clean and nice swimming pool, a small gym, karaoke room, laundry area and computer room where one can access the Internet for free. The downside to the computer room is that it is located in the same place as the laundry area. One can not really opt to stay longer there because of the smell from the laundry area. Plus it is quite warm in the computer room. There are only 2 computers there, and the Internet connection is not that fast.

There is no free wifi at Starts. One has to rent the mifi unit for $10 a day. However, the resort had only 2 units.

The golf course itself was huge, nice and clean. I am sure that golfers will enjoy hours of golf there.

Starts is around 10-15 minutes away from the downtown area. But it provides free shuttle service to and from Micronesia Mall and DFS Galleria, so going to these places is not really that difficult.

Will we return to Starts? Maybe for another golf tournament.:-)

This hotel is 10 miles from Tumon (where the beach, large hotels and restaurants are mostly located), and close to Andersen Air Force Base. It is generlly very, very quiet, except when the occasional military jet flies over, which is infrequent. The rooms are large, with very firm mattresses. They have flat screen TVs, a refrigerator, safe, large bathroom with a shower and tub and electronic Japanese-style bidet toilet seat. The signs are ~90% in Japanese, and this hotel caters to Japanese golfers. There were never more than 6 guest cars in the parking lot. A few airmen and women do stay there. The outdoor jacuzzi appears to be permanently closed; the sauna is not working, and the indoor whirlpool tub is full of water, but was not recommended by the staff. One word that best describes the resort would be ISOLATED. If you want privacy and don't need an in-room internet connection, this hotel could work for you (two shared computers are present in the laundry room, with old CRT-style monitors that flicker and a slow, intermittent connection). One on-site Japanese restaurant, that is fairly pricey, with no diners. The resort is only partially built up, with lots of grassed vacant lots where houses were once planned.
