Good facilities but hotel needs an upgrade and better service

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 30 Nov 2024
Comfortable good sized rooms and facilities. A nice beach just metres from the hotel. - a few things could improve the stay here as follows:
- arrived hungry from 'United' Island hopper about 7pm expecting room service for dinner - but no restaurants apart from the breakfast buffet the next morning. Could order food from 'uber' style services but wrong timing for that.
- safety on arrival a little poor - local druggy sitting near entrance happy to befriend us and no security in sight.

Despite the beautiful architecture of the hotel I will NEVER stay here again. It was dirty, outdated and I had to wait 2 hours for my room to be ready. The entire hotel looked as if it was about to go out of business. My room had 1 picture on the wall, 1 very small bar of soap in the bathroom and the carpet was disgusting.

The worst hotel I've ever stayed at. The building is in total disrepair. This was a short notice work trip and due to events on the island this was the only hotel with rooms available. This hotel needed to be renovated 20 years ago, at this point it should just be torn down. The beds are 20+ years old, the room was full of mold and it's clear that the cleaning staff doesn't clean behind furniture. The A/C never went below 21.5 C. Just a sad place. The owners must have given up many years ago.

Room tip: Stay anywhere else.

The hotel looks to have been grand when it was built. It’s still very nice and appears to be making a resurgence. Excellent breakfast! And they have a nice “mini mini” store with everything available. There is a spa that offers everything. My room was excellent. Try the hot dog at the pool bar. The best I ever had. There is also a fancy Resturant on “M”.

Room tip: After six go to the 5th floor towards pool. Have a seat at the bar for burgers, dogs, nachos and of course drinks. Seriously try the hot dog

Everything here was just average, then there's the stained and dirty carpet in our room which made the initial impression go downhill. It fit the saying "you get what you paid for" which is unfortunate. Plus, we paid around $89 a night which was really not that cheap considering this is Guam. We visit Guam twice a year for my son's BJJ competition. We decided to stay in a different hotel this time for the main purpose of adding reviews here in TripAdvisor. I regret it immensely as we could have stayed in a better hotel; one that we already have tried and tested for the same rate.

Granted, the rest of the room was clean esp. the bathroom which is a plus. Otherwise, I'd give 2 stars for this hotel. The bed was not springy or lumpy, just old and makes creaking sounds. Again, carpet needs to go. They would benefit on just changing it to wood or tiles altogether. The parking was also another challenge - limited esp. at nights. You end up parking outside (besides the hotel - not far). It was raining that weekend so it's muddy. There's another covered parking at front basement but is not connected to the hotel (if it was, the stairs were locked then), so you have to walk up a stairs, out the front door and walk out to the main lobby. It's just inconvenience esp. if you're a shopper in Ross, lol. The pool was small but clean. They don't provide towels. Make sure you bring your towels from your room. Staff are also not as welcoming nor friendly. Not rude either. Just there. Uneventful.

A very generous 3 stars for a 2 star experience over all. Just one time stay for us.
