5 Stars! Perfect for a family of four...complete with amenities for a short island vacation.
Minutes to restaurants, Hanauma Bay, Sealife Park, Lanikai and Kailua.
Best thing is the 1-2 min walk to prestine Waimanalo Beach. If you prefer a NO crowd beach /almost private- this the best!
Sherry and Gille were ever so accommodating...always ready to answer any needs or questions. Mahalo!
I stayed here with a girlfriend, and it met our needs nicely: 2 bedrooms with comfortable beds, a nice bathroom, and a peek of the ocean from the small front deck. There is a well-equipped efficiency kitchen and small but perfectly adequate living room. It was clean and quiet. There is snorkeling equipment, beach chairs, etc. provided, and a world-class beach across the street. (If you take advantage of the snorkeling equipment, inspect it before you head out: we found a broken mask and flipper among other gear that was just fine.) The property caretakers, Gilles and Angela, live next door: they are charming, knowledgeable and most accommodating.
Waimanalo isn't gentrified: it's a slow old town with a lot of local color...but it isn't fancy--I like it better than anywhere else on Oahu, and you won't find a superior beach on the island. You can drive the six or so miles into Kailua if you want a better selection of shopping and dining options.
