After spending 4 days at one of the resorts in Ko Alina we were keen to spend some time on North Shore and found this was pretty much the only Hotel there. Initial perception on arrival was the hotel is a little dated, loving the crazy paving floor in reception, and may be the place was a little past it's best. We did have a few issues with our reservation but all sorted out in the end. We ended up staying in Vista rooms on the 6th floor, nice room, comfortable bed, nice bathroom. Staff at the resort were great, it does need some updating, breakfast restaurant was a little like being back in the 80's but food good. We tried several restaurants on the resort which where all good value. Resort vibe was really nice and the grounds are superb, easy to walk along the coast and see all sorts of wildlife. Would happily return if I am lucky enough to make it back to Oahu.

Room Tip: spend a little more and get the Vista level rooms, views are fantastic

This was our second stay. We stayed in a vista level room with nice views and amenities. We enjoyed the deck with view, the friendly staff, and the size of the room and nice bathroom.
The continental breakfast and afternoon snacks and drinks were good but probably could use some improvement.
Great location - can’t beat it. And very relaxing place.
Would come back again.

lets get to it

PROS
-amazing views from all around
-amazing location - right at the point
-clean rooms, well equipped, amazing views from room
-loved the bar right by the beach with awesome food - drinks $7-$15 - food $10-$30
-nice small bar by the pools
-well equipped essential store
-resort fee includes go-pro usage But must buy your own USB ($46) and boom box usage.

CONS
-this is located a bit north and on a point so expect cooler temperatures
- guests pay $46.00 plus tax per night resort fee - aside from room price
-you have to pay for towels and chairs on the beach (considering you are paying $50 per night extra, this should be included)
-hotel restaurants are over - priced - especially for breakfast. You can eat local fresh organic breakfast for half the price
-staff at the front desk could be a bit friendlier
-no free self parking - parking was $15 - this should be included in resort fee
-cant take alcohol on the beach - you have to finish it at the bar (i think this is island law)
-no nightly entertainment
-

OTHER
--this is a very quite hotel - dont expect a party place
-older couples and young families or seniors

Room Tip: I think all the rooms should have a really nice view since this hotel is on a point

The absolute best place to stay on North Shore!! This resort has it all - from service to the amenities! The restaurant and bar choices on site are amazing. And the sunrises and sunsets were the best! Cant wait to return!

We stayed here for a couple of nights and we were so disappointed to leave. They do everything so well here. There are several bars and restaurants that serve quality food and drinks. Ok what you pay is quite a bit, but it is worth it. It's very peaceful in this remote part of the island, so you won't be disturbed at all. We never went in the pool as it always looked quite crowded, but also you're right on the beach so just jump in there!

The service here was really good and everyone we came across was super friendly. If I didn't live on the complete opposite side of the world I'd certainly stay here a lot more often. Would definitely recommend to stay here.
