We were cruisin’ the North coast, looking for some tubes, past Pipeline, past Jaws, past Sunset, past the big-wave Mecca of Waimea Bay - nothing. Then at Haleiwa we found them - perfectly formed six inch ankle-slappers.
Haleiwa Beach is so sweet. Almost utterly deserted, we parked as close as anyone could ever get to the water, strolled in and had a beautiful half hour, swimming in the perfect temperature, bouyant water.
It was our last day in Hawai’i, and we’d rented a Mini convertible (the perfect car for the day!) and cruised the island.
Simply loved it.
The rustic, rusted rose-free shower pipes even had water at exactly the right temperature, the utterly basic change room was twenty feet away.
As nice a day as anyone has ever had at a beach.
Perfection in simplicity.
Loved it.
