Read the recommendation from the Hawaii tourism website; very nice, pleasant, quiet beach with great views. The water was shallow for quite a ways out. The bottom is a mix of rock and sand. This area is ideal for paddle boarders, kayakers and children. No big waves to contend with. Awesome spot for a family with young children.
I arrived around 0900 and there wasn't anyone around. By the time I left @1300, the traffic was insane coming into North Shore. Same for the food trucks; ridiculous lines to get any food during this time frame. Overall; Still awesome. It is Hawaii!!!!

We were looking for a semi protected snorkeling spot one afternoon. This park does have protected areas, but no coral or pretty fish.
They are building new facilities.
The park has camping spots.

Calm water here for paddle boarding and great sunset spot in the evening. There are bathrooms and playgrounds for the kids

There are very few playgrounds in Vanuatu where we live, so our daughter was giddy with joy when we took her to this one. It was a very good playground and she made a friend there. While her mother watched her, I wandered down to the sea wall. I saw dozens of turtles (or a half dozen turtles dozens of times). This was absolutely a great place for us to go, but I gave it a poor rating because the permanent toilets were closed and the portable toilets were nasty.
