“What a wonderful place!”

Hana is far from the best attractions on the island but that place is worth the trip back and forth to them.
The site, the view, the house, everything is perfect. Sure, some of you will complain about the fridge or the toaster!! Is that what really matters ??
The house is comfortable, spacious and beautiful.
We spent a week there and had a chance to meet our hosts who are delightful characters.
If seclusion is the name of your game... this is the place you should go to if you're balsy enough to drive the road back and forth everyday.
We give it five stars and more!
Robin and Andrew were great hosts and took care of us, even if a few bad lucks occurred on the first day.

close to the Botanical garden, Hana Town, lava tubes and beaches. Nice grounds and home. As it looks in the photos. Andrew was nice to stop by and check on us when we arrived.

“An amazing getaway!”

A fantastic escape from it all. We want to go back! The Hana Hwy is a test to drive out there, but well worth the adventure you have started. The house is surrounded by rain forest and the edible palms plantation. You can walk through the grounds and see the many fruits in abundance. Waking up to the sounds of the birds and more, the sites, and laid back feel of it all. Close enough to Hana to be a great HQ for the daily adventures of eastern Maui, instead of using up time driving the Hana Highway each day. From your first steps up to the door, you are immersed in the way of Maui life. With 4 beach areas nearby, we photographed beautiful sun rises each day, and stars from the front porch at night. Robin and Andrew are great hosts, I loved reading your book during my down time. I could easily live there and never leave. I definitely left part of my heart there in Hana. Jason V

Disappointing for the price. Shower curtain terribly obsolete, no food disposal or dishwasher. Surroundings were great but amenities sparse.

I am sorry you were expecting a waste disposer and dishwasher. These are not listed as provided, and I think you are the first guest in eight years of rental ops that has mentioned the lack of them. We would of course never install a waste disposer in a house connected to a septic, but if enough guests think a dishwasher is necessary, we would put one in.
The shower curtain was indeed towards the end of its life, and has been changed. The liner is renewed regularly.

“Hana Cottage”

Loving the look of the outside of this cottage in Hana was what sold me on booking it for our overnight stay.
Unfortunately that was the best part about it, the outside.
After being woken several times throughout the night by noises, which we felt were coming from inside we couldn't find the result until the am when we woke up.
Upon finding mice droppings on the night table by my head, several droppings in the bathroom, kitchen and having to throw out our Aunty Sandys banana bread that we were saving for breakfast as it was nibbled on by the mice/ mouse.
There is also significant mold growing in the bathroom on the ceilings and walls and the fridge freezes your veggies and fruit ( had to throw out).
For the amount we paid for the night definitely was a huge let down.

Danielle, thank you for mentioning these things. We did not know about or the mice then, though we picked this up the next day and took measures to combat them. Unfortunately you arrived with the first of the colder weather, and the mice lay siege to houses when this happens - it takes a few days to get them back under control. The bathroom should have been better cleaned, and we have had a word with our normally very reliable housekeeper to prevent this happening again. Nor did we know about the fridge problem, which will be fixed now. Our apologies, Danielle, that these things were not right for your single night's stay.
