“Wonderful stay”

Everything about our stay at Hale Nanea was wonderful! Having taken the road to Hana several times, My wife, two teens, and I promised ourselves we would stay for a few days in Hana someday. This was the trip when we booked three nights in Hana at Hale Nanea. It is a charming and comfortable cottage just off the Hana Highway passed Travassa and Hasegawa's, which are both a short walk, or even shorter drive away. Every morning, we awoke to watch the sunrise and enjoyed coffee and reading on the comfortable, screened lanai.
The accommodations are not deluxe, but they are cozy and quaint, and the price was right. There is an expansive lawn in front of the cottage and lovely plumeria along the driveway. Even the large bovines mooing across the highway added to the atmosphere, which is mostly very quiet. It is a great location for a Hana stay that is a short drive to the pools at Oheo, Hamoa Beach, and Wai'anapanapa State Park. We will definitely stay again when visiting Hana.

“Right On The Beach”
Reviewed 12 June 2013 for a stay in June 2013

The room my husband and I rented for a night overlooked the ocean. Outside our room we could see the black sea beach. We listened to the waves crashing as we slept which was so relaxing. The room was well maintained and made to feel welcoming by the housekeeper assigned to us. I would recommend staying here for your stay.

“A piece of heaven!!!”
Reviewed 11 November 2012 for a stay in October 2012

Seriously LOVED this place, every detail was really thought out and Wendy was a gem!! Fresh flowers, fresh fruit, beautiful deck, beautiful place. Our only regret is that we didn't spend enough time in the Bamboo cottage as it was our first time in Hawaii and we wanted to see and do so much. Next time will be spent enjoying the cottage and all it has to offer. Thank you for making it available for us. Great job!!!

“Wonderful cottage with easy access to all Hana has to offer”
Reviewed 6 September 2012 for a stay in July 2012

We stayed in the Hale Nanea cottage for two nights during our visit to Hana. The cottage is very well appointed and has a lovely view of the Pacific Ocean. The owner's were very accommodating and left us a beautiful basket upon arrival. It's located right off the Hana Highway on a beautiful private and quiet peace of land which was great to play frisbee on for my young son. Some of Hana's best sites such as Hamoa Beach are just minutes away and Oheo Gulch is not far either.

We flew from New York and spent our first night at Mama's Fish House Inn in Paia (Great too) and then upon waking at 4:30am due to the time change, we headed up the Hana highway and were the only ones on the road which was great. We highly recommend getting on the road early to avoid the crowds that we saw on the way back down in the afternoon. Definitely take the hike up to the falls in Oheo Gulch (the earlier the better to avoid crowds)...the bamboo forest was amazing.

We would highly recommend Hale Nanea.

“Cute cottage with thoughtful touches”
Reviewed 3 January 2012 for a stay in December 2011

We stayed three nights in this cute cottage in a private setting. The owners have recently renovated with thoughtful touches and a well-equiped kitchen. Hana was a great place to leave the rest of the world behind and really chill out. We would stay again.
