We splurged on an ocean view room, which was well worth the upgrade price. The view of the pool and beach was lovely, and the room was spacious and had excellent bedding. (I love the pillows most Sheratons have.)

The front desk agent who made the upgrade happen was great, as were the valets and concierge. Tasty food from the 2 restaurants we tried (Link Cafe and Lava's).

It was too turbulent to do much in the water during our stay, as the south shore can get high wind and waves in summer, but we had plenty else to do. Handy to know that there is a shopping center with restaurants, a drugstore, and a local market less than 2 minutes away.

A little more expensive than our typical hotels, but well worth it.

My wife and I came here for 3 nights during our honeymoon. The staff upgraded us to a suite on the fourth floor--perfect for viewing the ocean. The rooms were clean, beds were soft, staff was friendly--it was a great place for us to stay. Thanks!

Pros: location, location, location, beach access, restaurants, friendly staff, maid serivice, rental car on permisses

Cons: room outdated in garden view side, 3100 builiding balconies face parking lot

Stayed at sheraton kauai for our honeymoon. Overall we loved our experience. You definitely can't beat the location. You can walk to other reastuarnt and shops. Also very convenient location if trying to get to other parts of the island. Beach access right from the hotel which is also very convenient. Reasturants / Cafe are also very good and nice to have. Maid service was really good. Nothing is more annoying then having maids knocking at your door when you are in your room. We never experienced that which is great.

We stayed in a garden view room which was okay. Based on other reviews I knew what to expect but since we really were only in our room for sleeping and showering I didn't care. I would say the room could use some updatimg. Outdated bathroom and dinging rugs. Also, our room was in building 3 and stayed on first floor - balconies face the parking lot ughh.

Located about a 20-30 minute drive from Lihue and the airport, the Sheraton is an excellent vacation spot offering a wonderful beach setting ideal for swimming, boogie boarding, surfing and snorkeling. The beach front is ideal for just relaxing and watching the surf. There are also pools for waders to swimmers. There are two restaurants in the resort as well as a coffee shop/store (Starbucks). Food service is available beach-side. The Lava offers a nice breakfast buffet--a little steep at $30, but where are you going to find eggs Benedict and lox and bagels on a buffet? The less expensive rooms are in the garden view area. To be beachfront with the surf and sea breeze was worth the extra. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was large and clean. The housekeeping service was outstanding. The entire hotel staff was outstanding from luggage and curbside service to a charming, warm welcome at the front desk to the maintenance people. The grounds are manicured. The $30 resort fee gives you access to a private beach, towels, and loungers. Cabanas are available for a small charge. Do not miss the luau on the Sheraton grounds with an excellent buffet and outstanding entertainment. Aloha.

My favourite hotel during our stay on the islands!

Split on two sides of the road, I was disappointed at first to have a room on the side of the road away from the beach. However, it was a lovely view of the gardens, and lots of time was spent photographing the various herons in the pools which are only on this side. The room itself was just fine, nice and big with everything needed.

Fabulous location away from the hustle and bustle, but with a shopping centre within walking distance through lovely gardens - you simply must try a Puka Dog from there! Gorgeous beach with pretty much only the hotel guests on it, no yobs! ;-) And a visiting seal!

Ate at Rumfire one evening, great food there, but I much preferred the casual food from the cafe which served sandwhiches, pizza, and doughnuts :-)

Room Tip: Don't bother paying for a front room, the garden views are great
