We stayed here the last 3 days of our honeymoon. When we pulled up and walked in....it was even better than the pictures!!!! The house is in a quiet quaint area, clean, spacious and calming space.
It is just close enough to some of the sites and restaurants in the Pahoa area. The whole place made us feel at ease which is what we craved after planning a wedding for a year, having that wedding, and needing to recover from a SOCIAL HANGOVER! We spent tons of time in the pool, and it was great to use the laundry and kitchen to feel at home the last few days of our vacation.
The lava covers the tidal pools we originally wanted to enjoy, but we are sure glad we kept our plans! I have a bum knee so made the choice not to hike down to the 'clothing optional' Kehena Beach, but really wish we could have!
If you are there on a Wed night, then you MUST go check out Uncle Roberts.....so glad we rallied and headed down the road to check it out. Great food, music, and hung out with locals. Chance to hike down to see the New Waimea Beach too!
Overall, it is a great place to stay if you want to just chill. I think it's also set up great if you had 2 couples or even traveling with kids. The upstairs bedroom with separate bathroom, kitchen, and outdoor patio was a bonus.
We spent most of our time by the pool and screened in patio!
Last thing, check out the Hilo Coffee Farm, do the tour.....great spot!
I stayed here with my partner for 2 nights, and it was just what we wanted. We were greeted by Juan who explained all about the house and its amenities, as well as the surrounding neighborhood and area. There is also a helpful file folder in the house which gives further information about activities and services in the area.
Me and my partner both said that we have never slept so soundly in our life as we did here. The calming sound of the ocean (a few hundred yards away) sent us right off to sleep.
I would recommend this property to couples wanting to get away from all the hustle and bustle, or to two couples wanting to share an experience in paradise.
35 minute drive from Hilo airport was a beautiful ride too.
