This cottage is set in the midst of a of a coffee plantation out in the country about 12-15 miles from the nearest town. The estate has a few short term rental Cottages and the one we stayed at is the honu which sits on a slight hill and you can look down and see the ocean from the porch. They grow a lot of different fruit such as pomelo, pineapple, mango, papaya and avacodo and more which you can help yourself to. The fruit was fantastic. The place is clean, beautiful, quiet, and well equipped. Brad is a great host and knows the area well. You have to drive to see the sights, shop or go to the beach but it is more than compensated for by the peace and beauty of the place.
When you think of a Hawaiian getaway, secluded on a tropical farm, this is it! I almost hate to give such a positive review for the fear that it will get booked up when we want to return but this was an incredible place to stay.
Brad was there to welcome us as we pulled in (he even had our names written on the board!) and gave us a nice tour of his property. We stayed at the Dolphin Cottage and you get your own private bathroom which is down the outdoor hallway, equipped with sensor lights so you can find your way even at night. You pass the outdoor kitchen on the way, which is shared but fully equipped, with the other cottage across the way.
The cottage is so comfortable, I never slept better!!! King bed was perfect. There are no windows but just the screens, with bamboo blinds for your privacy. The rooms are well thought out with storage shelving for your things and even a full size fridge, microwave, coffee maker, TV with satellite DVR, and WiFi.
Brad and Linda are very hospitable and very generous in sharing their macadamia nuts and platefuls of fruit with us, as well as snorkeling equipment and coolers, etc. We can't recommend this place enough and can't wait to stay there again!
A lovely spot on the Kona side to call home base. Captain Brad and Linda are knowledgeable of the area have great advice and offer services to make your visit meet your expectations. I felt like I became a part of their little coffee community in a natural Hawaiian setting.
We truly love staying here Brad has Fresh ground Kona coffee waiting to be brewed Mac nuts and a cracker on the lanai and what ever tropical fruit that's in season all included in the 65 dollar price. We rented a fishing boat and Brad showed us an awesome day on the water .
