We have been for the second time at this beautiful beach resort. The Bungalows are well maintained and distributed all over the large property. Chose a Bungalow with Ocean View. Staff is very helpful and there is a large offer with activities like bird watching in the morning or zip lining. Food is ok however for lunch at the beach the menu could be a bit more inspired.

Stayed for a week and loved it. Our kids enjoyed the different activities that were offered. We especially enjoyed our horseback ride this morning. Our guide, was very knowledgeable, and matched us with the perfect horse. The horses were well trained and the trails were beautiful. Because we are Platinum members with Marriott we got upgraded to a nice villa with plunge pool. Beach has great waves for body surfing.

Located along the Guanacaste coastline tucked up on a hill surrounded by lush vegetation; Hotel Punta Islita is the vision we had of Costa Rica and then some.

It is considered an eco-luxury Resort. So farm-to-table organic food. No plastic, harsh chemicals, chlorine, etc. Included with your stay are art sessions, cooking lessons, horseback riding, monkey tours, mixology lessons plus more. They have both rooms or Villas with private plunge pools. Plus a private beach and a 9 hole executive course. It’s great for newlyweds, couples seeking a get-away, families wanting a mix of relaxation and adventure, solo time. You can schedule excursions to the waterfalls, mud baths, volcanoes as well. The staff is amazing and so very accommodating. We will definitely be back and bring friends and family members with us!

Thanks so much for finding us! Hotel Punta Islita is thrilled to be a gateway destination that fully connects the consummate traveler with Costa Rica's authentic culture, charm, and adventures. We are off-the-beaten path and have developed in full synergy with our surrounding communities. That is why we decided to offer a unique program that includes a full menu of engaging experiences like zip-lining, art sessions, horseback riding, cooking lessons, and more. We are delighted when our guests fully embrace the concept! Thanks!

This was our first trip to Costa Rica and this hotel was just the ticket! We stayed in a privately owned house (through VRBO) but the hotel and amenities are included in the stay. It’s about a 3 hour trip from Liberia airport. Surprisingly easy to find (use Waze) and beautiful scenery. Hotel is truly jungle paradise with spectacular oceanfront and views. The main resort has an infinity pool Loki g out over the pacific. Staff were so courteous and friendly and helpful! We did horseback riding, zip lining, and surf lessons through the resort. All fun and worthwhile! There is one main restaurant that serves meals all day. Breakfast probably our favorite! Lunch down at the beach was decent. Only open for lunch. The oceanfront area is very nice. In a secluded spot. Swimming permitted in one area. Not snorkeling though. Surf lessons offered down there for $70 per person. Pool with swim up bar a plus! You can rent covered palapa for $35 day with two coconut drinks and large water bottle and fruit. Macaw sanctuary nearby and birds literally flying around all
The time. You will get used to their “calls”. Same with the howler monkeys! Thur move around and you can hear their eerie calls throughout the day. Never did the spa but offered. Food was good but be prepared for cost.. $75 average meal paid for family of 4. We did have meals nearby at Kimbute and in Samara some days too. Very different but amazing experience that we will always remember:)

I’m in hotels 130+ nights a year and this is truly an amazing, unique property. Agree on all earlier points about the beautiful grounds, the not-to-be missed FREE activities (especially Ziplining, Monkey walks, horseback riding, cooking, cocktails, etc...), excellent service, and fresh, reasonably priced food at the restaurant. Be sure to sign up for the Ara project macaw tour ($20), too. We had a few macaw visitors from there on the beach in the almond trees and got within 8 feet of these beautiful creatures. It’s amazing to see them soar overhead. We also got to see a family of howler monkeys, coati, and BIG iguanas. All the staff were excellent and special thanks to Jairo and Margarita for their excellent service! We’re still here and wish we didn’t have to leave!
