Our stay was wonderful! Close to our destination and cleaner than most other hotels in the area. Sidenote: Ashley at the front desk was a delight. She was very friendly and helpful and kept us laughing every time we saw her! Will definitely be staying here again.
We relocated here after having a bad experience at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Ripley. What a contrast. Angel, who was working the front desk certainly lived up to her name. She was friendly, kind and empathetic. The hotel was great. The pool was open (unlike Ripley). We were leaving early in the morning about 15 min before breakfast bar opened but the woman in charge there told us to come on in, everything was ready anyway. From beginning to end it was a wonderful and welcome experience after what we experienced in Ripley. If you’re looking to stay in that area, definitely consider staying here .
We. booked a "suite" which is just a longer room with a middle section with a couch, coffee table, and a weird one-armed chair shoved up against the wall, of no use for anything. The Tv was facing the beds, so could not be viewed from the couch. The wall thermostat had a blank screen so the wall manager came up, explained that we could just use the controls on the unit under the window, and then admitted that a sensor over the door would make sure that the fan and air conditioning did not work during the night. It was a hot. sleepless night.

It's alright. The room was clean for the most part. They did seem to be taking covid precautions which we always appreciate while traveling.
We got in very late (10 ish) got situated and finally laid down at 11 for another long day on the road. At 5:45 the fire alarm goes off. We were traveling with 2 cats so they went hiding of course. We had our whole life in this from as we are moving form MN to NC. So we were running around half naked, trying to find our babies and load up what we could. I finally called down and said is there a real fire because we are freaking out. Nope. The OVEN was smoking and set the alarm off, no sorry no anything. No discount for the night? We drove 12 hours yesterday!!! You'd think after driving 12 hours we'd want to get a good nights rest. Didn't happen. We all couldn't get back to bed after that. I was crying and so upset. And not even a sorry was given. Now we are on the road for another 8 hour day with 6 hours slept. Not good!

Parkersburg was a half-way stop on our trip and after a long day of driving and needing easy access to the expressway, this Holiday Inn was great for that purpose. The rooms were clean and even the remote was cleaned and placed in plastic before our arrival. Keurig station - although we didn't use it - was stocked appropriately. We had a very nice breakfast buffet where health safety protocol was encouraged with plastic gloves available at all the serving sections.
