This property is located near the village of Eyeries on the Beara peninsula with a wonderful view to the Atlantic in the near distance and an easy walk down to the strand.
We were a family of four with one couple and a mother and son. It has three double bedrooms and three sitting areas one of which has a log stove, together with a large well stocked kitchen and a utility room with washer and dryer. The TV room has a well stocked library of DVD and there are interesting books on the area.
Each bedroom has an ensuite and there is also a family bathroom.
The owner is very welcoming and is nearby should you require any assistance.
The property is located on the main road of the ring of Beara which is great for exploring the outstanding scenery of this region however this narrow road can be busy so it is wise to be cautious in driving out of the property.
We very much enjoyed our time here despite the weather turning a little grey and misty but that is expected on this coast.
Mum and I stayed nearly a fortnight so we knew what to expect and we were delighted once again. This is a lovely place with views to die for. As always Fran was very welcoming and accommodating. Had a lovely time. Thanks Fran.
Fantastic accommodation. The house is beautifully presented, fully equipped for everyone's needs. The views are without exception magnificent.
It is not difficult to find stunning views on the Beara Peninsula, especially in the paradise which is the extreme South West tip, but what you see out of your window, assuming the sea mist is not paying a visit, is breath-taking, and the sunsets amazing. The accommodation is excellent, with all you need, and Fran, the owner, ever helpful. If views are not enough, you have some superb restaurants and pubs in the area (West Cork was evidently voted the best place for foodies in Ireland) and beaches which will keep the kids amused all day. For the fit and young at heart, there are plenty of walks, which can be fairly challenging as the mountains come almost down to the sea, so not much flat stuff. There are also cycle and pony treks. This is a beautiful, remote and rural area, and you can be as active or relaxed as you choose - in fact, relaxed is the default mode in Beara, so it is a really good break if your daily life is full of hustle and bustle and/or the grind of city life.
This self-catering house is tremendous: comfortable and spacious, with all amenities provided. Accommodation is modern and cheerful while retaining the character of the original house. Fran, the owner, made us most welcome and even managed to supply excellent weather throughout our stay!! It's a real home from home and the view across the bay is one of the best I've seen on my travels. Thanks a million Fran. Mum and I had a wonderful holiday. Anne
