“Would be a great rental for extended business travel”

The house was very well appointed. The furniture was opulent. The open floor plan allowed us lots of family time while most of the action was in the kitchen/dining/living room area. The kitchen was stocked with a nice selection of pans, plates and utensils. We were able to complete all the cooking for our Christmas holiday with ease. The wifi was also an added bonus. The five of us had enough room to feel comfortable for the four day stay. It was also convenient to grocery stores and services, which was fantastic.

On the down side, the 4th bedroom was not in a "den" but in the alcove at the top of the stairs making it difficult for the person in that bed to sleep before everyone else was in for the night. The pantry was so crowded with cleaning supplies that we had no place to store food for our time at the house. We kept the food in the bins we had brought for our holiday on the floor of the pantry. The master closet is also filled with things that are being stored, so guests cannot make use of the closet.

The owners are careful with their property which is a plus, but the notes left around the house telling guests to keep shoes off the carpet, to not use metal in the pans (even though the pans are not nested w/pads to avoid scratches), or when to take the garbage to the curb made the home seem not as friendly as it could have been. Perhaps a note welcoming guest and offering their preferences for the property would be a better method of communicating their desires. I would recommend the house, but with reservations if a family was traveling with smaller children. And it would definitely be a great fit for someone on extended corporate travel who wanted a home away from home feel.

The 4th bed is actually in the den as it was called on the design plans when we bought the home new.
The pantry is used for cleaning supplies but we figure a 4 foot long shelf is sufficient for a short term stay. If someone was staying longer we would move the cleaning supplies. We may consider this option anyway.
The master closet has a spare queen bed stored in it which has been used in the past for guests.I would think 8 feet of closet rod is enough.

As the pans go we have had numerous guests using steak knives and cutting in our no stick pans. Even with the notes we have to replace them 1-2 times per year due to tenant neglect.

I am really not sure why the small children comment was made other than there is not a big yard to play in. The community does have a playground for childrens use. Maaybe the sstairs scare some folks.
