For those of you in a hurry, I'll cut to the chase. If we ever make it back to Whidbey, I'd rent this cabin again in a heartbeat. Great deck overlooking the bay. It's a beautiful view. Our first morning there was an eagle perched on a tree right by the water. Large deck, nice table & chairs. Really enjoyed drinking our morning coffee on the deck listening to the birds. The rooms are large. There were only 2 of us & we had much more than enough room. Would accommodate 4 easily. Nice kitchen. Easy parking. Only a few miles from Freeland which has a really nice, new grocery store and several good restaurants. Very quiet area (think we were the only people around during the week). After a busy day, we enjoyed the cable TV with HBO. Owner/manager was responsive.
I only have one barely negative comment. I wouldn't really promote this as a beach cabin. The cabin is on a bluff, probably 50 feet above the water. To get to the beach, you have to walk down (and then back up) about 125 steps. Most of what beach there is disappears during high tide. So, book the cabin for the view & great accommodations. Not for the beach.
