Description: A community owned pub with a thoroughly Welsh ethos that'll give you a taste of what our country is really about. Our 200-year-old inn is a Grade II listed building situated in the picturesque village of Llanystumdwy near Criccieth. Plenty of spaces to sit outside and a wide range of drinks available to enjoy. We don't serve food at the moment. A small self-service shop outside the pub is open from 8am which is full of various products.

I haven’t felt so welcome in a pub before. Friendly locals and amazing staff. Cymru am byth! We’re going to win the Euros...

Extremely loud and rude customers are about the only character this once wonderful public house now has. Avoid at all costs.

Hi John,

Sorry that you didn't enjoy your visit and had a bad experience. At the date of your review we had a Wales Euro 2020 match on, which was very busy and bound to have a different atmosphere than usual which would involve a lot of noise. The vast majority behaved throughout but unfortunately with so many punters there may be a small minority who do things we do not condone.

Nothing like going for pint at a quiet village pub and hearing shouts of "w***er" from the drinkers.

Been a while since I had been so was hoping it had improved. Has not.

Staff don't care about customers violating covid rules.

I want to go back to pubs, but when publicans and customers behave like this I wonder if pubs in this country have any future.

Hi Sion,

We reject the accusation that our staff didn't care. This was a very busy period and very challenging for our staff as it was the first week we were allowed to reopen outside after covid regulations were relaxed. This meant that we had loads of new customers coming from all over the area. The vast majority behaved throughout but unfortunately in such circumstances there could be a small minority who do things we do not condone.

I used to like this pub. Will be fair they have doen a good job with making it look nice and I wish them well.

But it was ruined by the horrible yobbish behaviour of some of the customers, shouting and wearing.

This is supposed to be a community pub where people can go and relax and be respected.

Hearing idiots shouting "b***ard" at people at the top of their voice ruins this.
