Overall I was very pleased with the rental. My interactions with the staff were all polite and useful. The apartment we stayed in was a great location, just 1 block from the beach, a brief walk north of the Neptune statue. It was great having the small kitchen, table, couch to make a couple meals and relax in the shade. The unit was cooled by window air conditioners, but even when it was 90 degrees outside it was still delightfully cool inside.
There were a couple of things that could have been better, but for the price I'm not complaining. Also, most of them were clearly outlined in the rental contract so we knew it when we made the decision to rent there. But potential renters should be aware.
The couch was rather uncomfortable and the arms were falling off - I understand they are replacing it for next season.
Make sure to remember to bring your own towels (bath and beach), toilet paper, and paper towels. While the unit comes with a few mismatched dishes, we brought some of our own.
There was a large security deposit required and we had to clean before we left or be charged a fee. They supplied a vacuum, but we bought a general cleaning product spray and paper towels our selves. This is somewhat unusual, but I assume it helps them keep the costs down.
The window air conditioner in the bedroom made the window intermittently rattle, which made it hard to sleep.
During the week, jets are flying overhead at all hours of the day and night and they are loud!
There was an additional fee for using your credit card to book with Cutty Sark. I always find that annoying.
Like I said, overall I was very pleased with our stay there. I would probably be willing to stay there again. But with the cheap price you lose a couple of services that you'd get in nicer places.
