Yes, you can hear the traffic, but it's not a thundering roar.

An odd motel, for all that, inasmuch as, nicely furnished, with a well equipped kitchenette, but some of the interior is getting dated and could do with a do up, but it's immaculately clean, and the people (and all the chooks, piglets, goats and cat) are very friendly!

If you want to be close to both Paihia and Kerikeri it doesn't get any better than this, and the size of the apartment makes it an ideal place for easy access to all the Bay of Islands has to offer the tourist, as it has a nice large terrace, a swimming pool and spa pool, the aforementioned farm animals, which makes a pleasant base to stay put with a good book, or head off exploring!

Room Tip: We had Number One, but if you were more than a couple, you'd need another room, but we couldn't fault it for proximity and privacy.

It's a very good motel friendly on ur pocket. Good for anyone who isn't picky. It's location is the best, just on the highway no need of any detour. Very good for a overnight stop over if ur driving from Auckland. We have been here twice and am sure will visit again.

We were welcomed by a most delightful and friendly Kiwi host. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and nice and light.(what a nice change) A very nice Spa Pool was available and used on both nights we stayed. Information was given freely regarding local points of interest. I would recommend this Motel to anyone. It's location is at Puketona Junction, about 11kms to either kerikeri or Paihia. So for a quiet restful stay up North give this Country Lodge Motel a consideration, you won't be disappointed.

My Husband and I went away for the weekend, and discovered this lovely motel up in Northland. It is in a area called Puketone Junction, and therefore is either 20 min to kerikeri or paihia.
It is in the country, and really really quiet. The rooms where a great size, lovely bathrooms, and great kitchen.
The Hosts where soooooooooo friendly and really helpful.
we both felt like we were home, not at a motel, that is how comfortable the place is.
We both say "you have to stay there"

We only stayed there for one night but the beds were springy and uncomfortable. Booking at the last minute before new years eve it was very well priced for 4 people so can't complain much. There is a spa (NZ$3.00) to use and an outdoor swimming pool too but we didn't have the time to use either. The location is really good with a short drive to kerikeri or to paihia/ waitangi from the lodge. Good car parking too. The bathroom wallpaper is interesting;) but there is no pressure in the water lines, showering takes ages!

Would only recommend this if you are out of choices in Kerikeri or paihia or if what's available is over ur budget.
