We found it difficult to find a good restaurant in Greytown on a very busy Saturday night so settled for what we thought would be a standard "pub" meal. What a surprise we had at 1860! The decor was charming and the atmosphere "old world". The maître d' was from Chile, the waitress from Argentina and the Chef from Austria. An unusual mix to find in New Zealand during the Covid 19 pandemic but it certainly worked. My partner had lamb and I had kingfish (fish of the day). They were both beautifully cooked. We both had a lemon pie which was also delicious. A fantastic meal and certainly not pub food. Highly recommended.
