The food is excellent, the setting is very nice, burgers, fish and chips along with gourmet meals is a must.

There aren’t many choices of straightforward eatery on Monday nights in Martinborough in June, especially if you don’t fancy paying $35 a pop for mains which are laden with long descriptions, mushrooms and/or truffle oil.

(To be fair there was a little Thai place which seemed to be open every night but we’re not big Thai fans.)

The pub/E10 bistro was open, which was a good start, but when we walked in at around 7pm we were told the kitchen was probably closed! There was only one other small group there. We put on our best pleading looks and got burgers at $18 each. They weren’t epic, but they did the job.

Tuesday is not also a big open night in Martinborough at this time of year, it seems, so we returned to E10 the next night for the lamb rump. This was cooked perfectly but the winter greens were average and at $30 each, we didn’t find it a memorable meal.

Décor is dated and over-lit; service is average; prices are too high but that seems to be a Martinborough trend.

All meals were small, unexceptional and overpriced - the kids ones especially. We all left disappointed and still hungry. Wouldn't recommend.

We had a great dinner here on Friday night. The restaurant was fully booked and they were turning people away. We both had burgers which were excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. We would recommend this restaurant and will definitely return.

This is where the locals go for a meal or drink. Went for saturday lunch with extended family. Everyone one enjoyed nice tasting good size meals.
