We discovered this gem by accident as we travelled along the Lake of Thun. We were welcomed and received a top floor room. From the balcony we had what I think is the most spectacular view we've ever had from a hotel room. Overlooking the lake was lovely but combined with the mountains rising on the far lake side it was magnificent. And not just mountains but THE mountains: Eiger Monch and Jungfrau. They were snow covered and the bright sun on them created a remarkable brilliance.
We sat out on the balcony in the late day sun with a glass of wine and enjoyed the beauty.

Very pleasant hotel with gorgeous views of the Thuner See in the small village of Hilterfingen just outside Thun.
We were travelling with children and therefore booked interconnecting rooms which were both very spacious. We ate in the hotel restaurant one lunchtime and the food was phenomenal. The breakfast service each morning was very attentive, friendly and welcoming, although in our view the selection of breakfast foods could be significantly extended.
Wifi was not accessible from our rooms (disappointing for keeping in touch with home / work) although was provided free of charge.
Plenty to do in the local area including boat rides across the lake, the Beatus Caves, and lots more. Swimming in the lake is fantastic if somewhat chilly even in mid summer!
Overall we felt the hotel was excellent but gave it a "Very Good" due to the price - possibly all in all it came to one of the most expensive long weekends away we have indulged in for some time!

Location: Fantastic view around lake and mountains. Access by car. No traffic, quiet.

Room: Nice room. Enough space, clean, quiet. Very good bed --> very good sleep.

Restaurant: We had a fantastic dinner, amazing views around the lake. Fine wine selection.
Breakfast: Everything you need.

Overall:
Family business service: It is not a 5 star butler stlye, it is just about to let you feel welcomed and well.
Good value for your money.
