No water in the fridge, or anywhere in the room. Nothing complimentary. No coffee, tea, Nothing. The location is far from Madrid, if you are concerned with location. The furniture is old, no vibe, no energy, no updates to anything. It's decently clean, and it was pretty quiet since there is no one here because of Covid. It looks like a prison block, it's in the middle of nowhere.
The hotel is used and that is visible, but the bed is superb! It is a bit far from everything. So for dinner you next a taxi to get somewhere. Breakfast is ok although a big group of Asian tourists where there and left a mess in the restaurant.
Sometimes it depends on various factors to stablish the quality of a place. In this particular case the tempartures in Madrid were almost umbearable due to a heat wave that was affecting most of Spain and therefore one just wanted to be indoors with the a/c full on. The hotel is fairly isolated and therefore one had to walk to the nearest facilities which were about 900 m. away. Fortunately the staff were very good and it was easy to stay within the confines of the hotel and consume cold beers. I would rate this hotel a good choice for business meetings. The breakfast was very good also.
The best thing about this hotel is the price. I found it to be very economical (and it includes breakfast), especially considering the holiday season in Madrid. It also has free parking which made me decide to drive to Madrid rather than take the train or fly. It was also a short drive to the metro station so I was able to get to the center of the city via public transportation rather quickly. The room was adequate and clean with a good tv, a comfortable bed and a decent shower. The biggest problem was the poor WIFI connection.
Compared to other 4 star hotels the decor is functional but not very classy. We first looked at 2 exterior rooms which we declined because of the traffic noise. We finally agreed to an interior room which faced a patio and was indeed quiet. However, the window had a kind of wooden sliding door covering it so you couldn't open it to get natural light because the window didn't have a curtain and you could be easily seen from other parts of the hotel.
You could also not open the window to let in some fresh air without opening the wooden door entirely.
The worst thing about this hotel is the poor management, either because of incompetence or an obsession with cutting costs. When we arrived, our room was missing several things from the amenities package, didn't have a floor mat, only had 3 hangers for 2 people, etc. It's true that these problems were eventually resolved but you get the feeling that they only take care of problems if people complain and only sometimes. The hairdryer didn't work properly and I'm sure they were aware of it but chose to ignore the problem. There are other examples of unforced errors where things were not taken care of in a proper way and other cases where there was a lack of attention to details. Why the hotel could not replenish the dwindling supply of black tea during our 8 days of breakfast is beyond me.
I only stayed for one night, however, the experience was positive. The facilities are modern, spacious and clean. A bit understaffed, but ok considering the dates. Wifi is good. Parking available. No ambiance whatsoever...
