Arrived late in the evening, given key to Room 401 which has no balcony which we had booked. Young man on reception couldn't do anything about it as he didn't have the access to the booking system. No problem. We were given 404 the next day by a very personable young lady.
The room itself was quite modern, clean and air conditioned. Nice comfortable beds.
The problems arrive at breakfast, everything that was supposed to be hot was cold, and I mean cold. Even when the cook brought, say a full tray of perfectly cooked fried eggs they were cold. I was at a loss as to how he managed it. The same at dinner , although the soup was hot. We ate bread ham and cheese for breakfast and ate out for dinner. I felt sorry for the staff getting moaned at over the food, lack of plates etc. The staff were really lovely and friendly in the bar and on reception. For the price we paid in Can Pastilla it was fine, shame about the catering

I'm not sure where exactly others stayed but my stay was absolutely fine and for some to say it's not near the beach is ridiculous. The beach is just 4-5 minutes walk away. The Hotel Marbel is a 3 star hotel, my room was modern, looks like it had been refurbished as did all the others I noticed daily as they were being serviced. No tea/coffee making facilities and no fridge which I did struggle with as the weather was very hot during my 5 nights. However, excellent air conditioning and easy to use. My room and bed was comfortable and the bathroom also quite new. I slept very well throughout my stay, no complaints about my accommodation at all. There is a small roof pool and some beds to enjoy the sun but the beach is just minutes away so the choice is yours. Wi-Fi is free but to be fair only really works in reception. Breakfast was a choice of continental or hot cooked (eggs, bacon etc.), and rolls/bread/fruit/drinks, not the greatest of quality but topped up when needed and edible, you shouldn't go hungry.

The hotel's location is perfect, just off the main road, 6-8 mins from the airport (bus 21 @ 5 euro's each way). You are surrounded by shops/restaurant's and bars and more along the beach and a Spall Supermarket on the next corner for any essential's. My third stay in Can Pastilla, not my last for sure.

Quite a way from the beach, no entertainment or lounge so nothing much to do in the evening.Hotel is very basic but room was ok.Breakfast sparse and evening meals were always cold and if they ran out of anything it wasn't replenish. Once its gone its gone so get there early if you want to eat it at all!! We paid quite a lot to stay here but would avoid it at all costs.
