this has to be the worst place I have stayed in just back from a 14 night stay very rude lady when we arrived we were a family of 6 my husband and I our son and his wife 2 16 year old boys no housekeeping had to ask after 5 days to be told we could only have our apartment cleaned twice more before we left nothing for the boys to do no parasols at the pool hookers coming and going police all over the place so as you can imagine I will never visit calahonda again

Dear Renee,

I confirm you this is an apartment, not a hotel room, and cleaning service is not daily but weekly, as our housekeeping service has correctly informed and done. Everything is clearly stated at every channel, web and online site in order for our possible guests can know beforehand the conditions. It is supposed that once you book with us, you agree terms and conditions.

Regards,
Virginia

Overall a good holiday good sized apartment with two balconies, a few niggles with the resort itself it is very tired looking flaking paint and scuffs and scratches in the apartment the complex needs an update inside and out. Very basic supplies for use in the kitchen if you are planning on self catering (a measuring jug would have been good for a start) also be warned a starter pack is in the apartment when you first go in but it is not replaced thereafter. Bit of a pain if you stay for any length of time (another thing to pack washing up liquid)

However the swimming pools and grounds were very nice (apart from cold pools as usual wish they would invest in solar panels to heat the pools there is plenty of sun). The resort staff were very helpful and friendly and very happy with Scandels the restaurant along side the hotel nice meals and again friendly staff.

It is a bit of a trek up and down to the beach and supermarkets, no getting away from the fact it is up a hill but it did give a nice view from the balcony local bus stop is just up the road easy to get to Fuengirola (and cheap) and down to beach but not very often times are shown by bus stop.
Some lovely restaurants down by the beach and a lovely boardwalk that goes on for ages,

Room Tip: be aware there are no lifts steps all the way

myself and my wife have recently returned from this resort in Mijas, Costa Del Sol.
On arrival we were given an upgrade to family room, which has 3 bedrooms and 2 balconies. this was a bit much for 2 people, but we went with it.
Apartment was very clean, two bathrooms and basic amities in the apartment.
We were a little disappointed that the TV was either Spanish or German!
Room service was only provided on one day, half way though our 1 week stay.
We had to pay for 1 weeks WIFI, which was about 35 euros for the week. We had a car, but wasn't happy to pay the extra 35 euros to park in the massive empty under ground car park. some parking is provided at the front of the resort, but not much and Spanish drivers love to take up 2 parking spaces for 1 vehicle!
The hotel has 3 pools. 1 for very small children, the next is for adults/ old children and then the main large pool.
the two main pools were VERY cold.
The resort didn't have any evening entertainment, but had a restaurant on site and a walk up pool bar/hut.
The hut and restaurant called "Scandals" is run and owned by an English couple. The pool bar opening times was very hit and miss, but the restaurant was good. Great tapas!!!
We did feel that the prices for the food were a bit over what we had expected, but Gale and Kevin are very welcoming.
The resort is a bit tired on the outside, which is in need of a paint brush. The maintenance man starts work about 08:30, so you are woken up by about 09:00!
They don't open up the pool area until about 10:30-11:00, unless you are Spanish, when you can talk your way in early to get a sun bed in the sun and avoid the shaded areas!
We felt that we really did need a car to get around. The nearest point to get to a beach would be about 20 minutes walk, but the beach we found wasn't very good and looked like a building site.
To get from Malaga Airport to the resort will cost to 80 euros each way via taxi.
we visited Gibraltar, Rhonda and went to the local super markets, which are close, if you have a car!
5 minute walk away was a line of restaurants, which were good and offered great food. These are all good, but you don't get a romantic view, as they all face onto a main road.

Overall- OK and would consider returning for a self catering holiday, but not until the place has had a face lift..

Old fashioned but relatively well maintained property.
Unfortunately, very little flexibility in demanding extra payments for WiFi and energy.
Some of the kitchen equipment did not work and was old fashioned.

I lasted reviewed this aparthotel over three years ago and was very pleased with it. I was back here for the past two weeks and it still produces the goods. The Reception staff are as good as ever, particularly Miguel and Lola. There is a new and very welcome addition in Francisco, who has come over from the Ona Alanda as the new head of the resort. He is excellent. The apartments are excellent, bright and spacious with super balconies. Updating has been ongoing and with Francisco in charge I would expect to see more changes. Scandals, the new stand-alone restaurant is very good (reviewed elsewhere by me) . Highly recommended and worth a visit
