This sweet B&B feels like staying with relatives in the heel of Italy's boot. The owners are a lovely retired couple who run the apartments with warm hospitality, making sure everyone is introduced to their neighbours. The rooms are basic but totally comfortable and equipped with all the necessities like air con, TV, and great wifi (not always easy to find in Puglia!). Breakfast is a smorgasbord of sweet and salty treats, always with homemade cakes and jams, and the location is right in front of the sea, so you can stare at the azure waters while drinking your morning espresso. This is a lovely place to experience authentic Puglian hospitality!

This B&B is an older style single storey villa adapted to provide living quarters for the owners plus a self-contained room with en-suite at the back of the villa, with additional accommodation across the back yard. There is a huge terrace in front of the building where breakfast is served which over looks the sea, and parking is in a bay opposite. We were shown two rooms both of which were dated but clean and chose the back room as it had a walk-in shower. However, after the first night we wished we had chosen the other room offered in the separate building as we both felt the room and bedding were slightly damp. Luckily we had not unpacked much and had few clothes out of the cases. The following night we were careful to leave the air-con on all night. This room has a door to a passge to the terrace.
Il Signore has no English but la Signora speaks it very well as she taught English and likes to practise with English speaking guests. She was very welcoming when we arrived, almost too much so, when all we wanted to do was sit and relax after a journey but she kindly offered us a range of drinks and home-made cake.
Our room contained the usual pieces of furniture with a kettle (surprise!) and tea bags on a tray. The water for the shower was supplied from a small tank which ran out of hot water halfway through the second shower. The towels were on the thin side, there was a hairdryer with nozzle and shower cream.
Breakfast included fresh fruit, cereals, biscuits, yoghurts, fruit juices, croissants, tea and/or coffee. For evening meals there are one or two restaurants in the town after a pleasant walk along the sea front, but Santa Maria di Leuca is a quiet little place with a small beach so do not expect too much. La Signora recommended a nearer restaurant which gave a 10% discount but it was not quite warm enough at the end of May for outside dining although it is probably pleasant enough in the summer. The fish was fresh but the meal was only average.
The price offers good value but reflects the lack of modern facilities.

This establishment will not tick all the boxes for everyone, especially folks looking for luxurious accommodation; however, as a B&B it offers perfectly acceptable, comfortable accommodation at an excellent price. The hosts are lovely folks, helpful, kind and only too willing to help with ideas and information. The location is ideal, out of town but a very short walk to the beach and to the restaurants. This was a very comfortable B&B and we would use it again.

GPS got us to the hotel parking no problem.
Clean , good WiFi, Excellent breakfast served on the patio and wonderful hostess who spoke excellent English.

There is a small kitchen for guests use with fridge and washing machine if needed The bed was not as comfortable as other hotels we stayed in and only had 1 pillow and a sheet. However, I didn't ask for a second pillow which might be available.

Recommended and would stay here again
