it is a short walk (5 minutes) from the hotel to enjoy the pretty town of Alberobello and the many Trulli buildings in the area. 1 hour drive to see the Sassi of Matera, 30 minute drive to the beach town of Monopoli, 2 hour drive to the beaches of San Foca, 2 hour drive to Gallipoli, 20 minute drive to Castellana Caves... so much to see and do near there.
Breakfast was included and was a buffet of fruit, cakes, lunch-meat, cheese, yogurt, cereal, juices, and (unfortunately - the worst coffee I've ever had in Italy). Have your fill of breakfast, then walk downtown and get a real coffee.
The hotel and room was very modern, clean, and upscale. Our room had a large bed and a bunk-bed for the kids. Sky satellite TV had many channels in English and Italian. The shower was not fully enclosed and sprayed water all over the bathroom floor..but other than that, I don't really have any complaints.
It would be nice if they had a swimming pool. Evidently they have a partnership with a local fitness center, but we did not explore that option.More
