With Monticello, Charlottesville, the Blue Ridge Parkway all within 30 minute drive, there are so many wonderful adventures to choose from. The only downside was that we hated to leave the house! It's like living in a little bit of history, beautifully preserved and very comfortable with a huge updated kitchen. It was hard to decide which porch, patio or other outdoor area to relax on. Every window looked onto gorgeous fall scenes. The whole area is picturesque-either wooded, rolling pasture land or apple orchards, all ringed by the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. I've never stayed at a lovelier property. Ross and Misty were exceptionally responsive leading up to our arrival but the house was so well prepared that we didn't have to call on them at all during the stay. Can' t recommend it highly enough!
Our 5-day reunion at Rosneath was a great success. The farmhouse was as lovely as advertised and made for a spacious, comfortable and quiet location for our group of five sisters. The kitchen was ideal for preparing our meals and the big table in the dining room was perfect for our long periods of talking, reminiscing and laughing. The weather was sunny for all five days of our stay. The farm was convenient for reaching all the historic places we wanted to visit - Monticello, Highland-Ashlawn, Michie Tavern and Appomattox Court House National Park. We had a great stay.
My husband and three grown children had the absolute pleasure of staying at Rosneath Farm from July 31st - August 4th, 2017. It was simply beautiful. The house was immaculate and everything a lover of fine, old homes can appreciate, yet with all of the modern conveniences. Though in the area mainly to visit Monticello, we had little desire to leave Rosneath other than to shop for nessecaries. We enjoyed cooking and eating in. The house is so spacious that we often found it difficult to find each other right away. I think that it would be an excellent place to stay with extended family, another couple, or friends. One of the things we all loved the most were the views from the various porches and expansive grounds. Nature abounds. Sipping my favorite tea out on the upper porch as the sun came up over the mountain and filtered through the trees each summer morning was glorious. Something I would recommend is perhaps bringing a few board games to while away the hours if per chance the weather is uncooperative. There are a few puzzles for your enjoyment and a selection of books. It was truly difficult to leave. I find I keep pouring over all of the wonderful photos taken and wishing we could have stayed longer.
Beautiful Jefferson era farmhouse. Large and spacious. comfortable for a family. Great location in a beautiful country setting. Only about 9 miles from shopping and nice restaurants and also only about 20 minutes from Charlottesville.

I stayed with my family and friends, including 3 children under age of 13. The house is immaculate and beautiful, the views are gorgeous and the fireflies were out in force. Our additional needs were few, but the caretakers were prompt and good natured with help.
