This is our 4th year staying at Shamrock Country Inn.
Aaron, the owner, has invested many hours of hard work and dedication to improve the Inn and we are always welcomed with a smile!
It is enjoyable to stay in a family-owned business such as the Shamrock Country Inn and not the corporate chain of hotels.
Kudos to the Shamrock Country Inn in Shamrock, Texas!

For the price you can't do any better. The motel has a classic feeling to it. The room was spotless, the bed was comfy, and the free breakfast offered fresh waffles, real scrambled eggs, biscuits/gravy and other items! We will be staying here again the next time we pass through :D

Room Tip: Easy and quiet.

This is such a quaint, family owned motor inn from the Route 66 era! It has been updated without losing its lovely charm. If you need a place to stay anywhere near this little gem, this is worth it. Now to the details.

First, you can’t beat the price! You are getting a terrific bargain for the price. We paid $35 for one night. We feel like that was a bargain.

Second, this little town is adorable! Pizza joint and wrecker service in one building, Big Vern’s Steakhouse, and friendly folks all around. We ate at Big Vern’s, see that review for more details, and felt that rounded out our brief stay in Shamrock perfectly! If you’ve ever watched Too Wong Foo with Love, then this little town will feel charmingly familiar!

This is a family owned motor inn and they are very friendly, attentive, and welcoming. You couldn’t ask for better staff/owners!

The room. As you may already know, I love the simple things, such as curved shower bars, clean room, shower caps, etc. I loved their charming bathroom with the pink tile and aqua teal tub! Of course they had a curved shower rod. Speaking of shower, they also included a shower cap, which I think should be included in EVERY room. Not necessarily for its intended purpose, but to cover the remote. Think about that for a moment. Okay, now, put the shower cap over the remote before you touch it!

Last, but not least, the bed. I must remind you that we sleep on a Sterns and Foster at home, so we are pretty particular about beds, perhaps more than most. If you don’t have a Sterns and Foster, well, let me assure you it is worth the investment. That being said, this was not the best, but hardly the worst. I should develop a rating system for beds. On a scale of 1-10, with Sterns and Foster being a 15. Yes, you read that correctly, 15. If I didn’t make S&F 15, then most hotel beds would be between 2-4, and unfair to the hotels. So, trust me on this rating system as compared to the S&F. This hotel’s bed would be about a 5. It was neat, clean and reasonably comfortable.

Will definitely stay here again if in the area. We feel refreshed and back on our journey again.

Called to make sure they would have a room when we arrived in Shamrock at 10pm. Spoke to a very nice and enthusiastic women (owner?) who spoke about their property and breakfast.
We rolled in at 10, thanks Waze for your accuracy, and were met by Aaron (husband?). This is a classic motel, probably 30 rooms in a “U” shape. The owners have spent the last ten years improving the property, anyone who owns an old building knows what that is like, getting it back into shape.

Breakfast was good, waffle machine, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, and it was all ready at 6am.

The owners have every reason to be proud of what they have managed to do in the last few years. Clearly on a budget, but it looks great. Thanks for a restful night.

We have now stopped here twice on our western travels in the last two years. Very clean and unbelievably friendly courteous and caring owners. Myself & my spouse have back issues and found the beds to be perfect for a restful sleep. We also found that the WiFi was much faster than the two Comfort Inn' we stayed at on this trip. I could go on & on how much more we enjoy staying here versus the Frontage Road chain hotel/motel right off the freeways.
