With all the devastation that has taken place from Hurricane Harvey, Port A has truly come together as a family. And with this, Amelia's has def taken it a step further to allow for those who lost their homes, to stay in their rooms.
Amelia's was affected and has been in the middle of remodeling...but has still gone above and beyond to accommodate as best as possible!
If you stayed here before the hurricane, just wait until you see the newly remodeled rooms and such...WOW!
Jay and his wife have truly out done themselves and so have the crew to help get Amelia's back to "Flying High" status!
Whether you are a family or a couple...or friends coming to enjoy the beach for spring break, Amelia's will not disappoint!!!

Room Tip: Any of them...especially since they have been updated and remodeled!

I loved the airplane themed room! It's not a new hotel with a lot of bells & whistles but it is cozy and has character. Although cold by son insisted on getting in the pool, it was not 'heated' enough for me, but my son was insistent; we definitely did take advantage of the hot tub under the cabana like area after the cold pool. They provide a breakfast basket with milk, juice and baked goodies... my 5 y/o was excited to receive a 'gift'. Overall, it was a great experience!

Since we flew in in our own small plane, this is the ONLY hotel pilots can stay at! Ok, just kidding... this is a nice, cozy, interesting place for anyone, especially anyone who has any interest in aviation or space. Each room is themed with something aviation/space related... we stayed in the Apollo room which had a number of photos and articles posted in the room from that era. The rooms are not 5-star, but neither is the price. The room was clean, had a small refrigerator and microwave and clean bathroom. There's also a nice pool to cool off in with a BBQ grill in case you want to cook out vs. going to town for a meal. The hotel was quiet but within walking distance of many of the attractions. I know the hotel was damaged in Hurricane Harvey in August 2017, but they have begun to re-open as of November. I recommend you give this place a try... I sure you wont be disappointed.

I have stayed here 3 times. There is no place better. This is a wonderful place! Mary and Jay really care. They will bring your breakfast to your door every morning! It is CLEAN, fresh, beautiful! The rooms are perfect! You can walk to Church, the store, the bus, stripes, the computer center. Most importantly the bus takes you to the beach! They have a swimming pool, BBQ, free newspaper, cool mugs, a car if you ask, and they could take you flying! They are awesome!

Room Tip: Depends what you need, book ahead and you can stay a month with kitchen

We were very happy with the hotel. The rooms were quaint and the beds were comfortable. We normally rent a house when we stay in Port Aransas, but this was a nice change. Within walking or biking distance of everything. Breakfast is minimal, usually a muffin or protein bar, but we liked the unique way it was delivered to the room. We didn't use the pool, because it was a bit cool outside. It's a very good value if you want a clean, comfortable place to stay while you're on the island. The nostalgic airplane theme was really cool too.
