We stayed here for the fourth of July weekend. It was amazing. The park itself is very nice, you are assigned a space for either tent or RV camping. My father in law had his camper and even with 8 if us in there the time spent at IB Magee Beach Park was memorable. There is the check in center which is open 24 hours equipped with clean restrooms and hot showers. The park has a gated entrance that closes at night but as long as you have the gate code you can come and go. I have been camping many places before but to have a place with the restrooms, showers, and close proximity to the beach it was amazing. The building also has a upper deck that is beautiful to stand on in the morning and just take in the view. Also the restroom/showers are also locked at night to those without the gate code so there is that added security that not just anyone came come and go to the rr/showers.

Staff was very nice and helpful the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because for the summer months you have to reserve a minimum off 2 months in advance and you have to pay extra to use the pier per person I wish the entance fee covered this but if you swim during the day you can fish at night without the extra charge. Dogs are allowed but must be leashed and picked up after.

This park is amazing for all! From tents to 500K RV's. Full hook ups at a great price. You can camp on the beach for $12 a year permit. This will provide you full hookups though and the beach is just over the dunes. Customer Service is amazing and 24 hour access to the club house with bathrooms an clean clean showers!

Just what we were looking for. Large sites, close to the beach. Heard the waves the entire stay. Good electricity, water pressure. Wifi is very spotty. Dump station is conveniently located. Heard from several campers that the park will soon be expanded with full hook ups. Fishing pier close by.

We parked in the state park RV park our first night and paid $25. Not a bad price for full hookups. But, after checking things out a bit more, we decided to spend the next night boondocking along the beach. We went to City Hall-710 W. Avenue A- to purchase our beach parking permits (one for our Jeep, one for our motorhome) for $12 each. The permit is valid Jan1-December, not matter when you buy it. We pulled our RV right up to the beach alongside the bollards and put our chairs out in the sand. It was not at all crowded. We also walked out on the pier ($2 per person, $1 for seniors). There were several people fishing off the pier and we got up close and personal with a brown pelican.
