We had a great time! There were 9 of us and we just fit. The house is exactly as described... sandwiched between the train tracks and Riley’s Tavern. If we had been any closer to the bar, our beds would have been on the dance floor! ;-)
Best features: right next door to a jumpin’ Bar with a live band and killer brisket nachos, just a walk to the Happy Cow with another band and cold beer, close to anything you want to do in the area (tubing the river, etc), full kitchen, washer and dryer if needed, 2 bathrooms.
Worst features: we never got a correct WiFi password, one of the toilets was broken when we arrived and never was properly fixed.
If you are looking for a quiet getaway, this is NOT it, but if you just want a quirky, fun weekend... book it!
Well to start off first thing one bathroom never worked at all we asked someone to fix it and some guy come over at 11:30 pm to fix NOT COOL. I know it says there is a train literally it is in the living area 3-4 time a night it goes through and is LOUD as HECK and as we we’re leaving on Sunday someone next door a Riley’s Tavern hit the back of the truck broke the light. Other than that that’s all I have to say.
Cute cottage but could use a little updating, toilet had problem with water filling tank, vehicle damaged overnight, but we had a good time.
Right next door to oldest bar in Texas, Riley's Tavern! Was fun food great drinks cheap, Friday night we had a blast and then just walked home next door! Few miles from Gruene, TX which we spent all day Saturday. Cottage was amazing, celebrated my girlfriends birthday and decorated the house. Love all the antiques. Was cozy and comfy. Will be coming back AGAIN!!!
We just stayed here with our children. Didnt realize the bar was directly in front. We were worried about it but there were no problems there. The price was also great! It was just a simple, nothing fancy old country house. We would stay again if it wasnt for the fact that the day we left we found rat feces in the kitchen cabinets by the dishes.....yuck!!!!
