Just arrived back from here at the beginning of week. Was very disappointed at the apartment the showers were freezing cold it was unbearable to shower so we complained to reception and their response was did you leave the water running to long for it to go cold or was their anyone in shower before you’s? Their was three to our room and was not a touch of hot water atall I know it wasn’t a pricey apartment but no matter what you pay you still should have hot water. Never got a maid in the rooms, which we got told every second day but still never came, the bins where overflowing and we had to ask for clean towels and toilet roll it was like we were asking for something unordinary , other than that the staff at the pool bar where absolutely lovely. The stairs at side of apartments to get to shops and strip are something else if your not that fit as it’s just under 200 steep steps.

Awful! Only Positive....the pool bar staff...that's it!
Still here on holiday unfortunately! ask for a quiet room....get a room next to a lift shaft not a decent night sleep whole holiday. Night reception on arrival totally disinterested. Guests battering around staircases half the night. Maid service?? Non existant! What is that? Been here 9 days out of 14 and I don't mind the bed not being made but no change of sheets so probably not going to happen now. Apartment is not the cleanest and all the maid does is provide towels and toilet rolls. Up the side of a cliff face with men hanging around the top of the 'infamous' stairs making people feel intimidated. Don't come here if you want to feel safe or rested after your holiday.

Room tip: High floor but request anything you'll get the opposite. Quiet room get placed next to a lift shaft!

Just back from a 10 night stay and can't fault it apart from the €50 deposit that was a complete surprise to us but came in very handy at the end of our holiday for a meal and some duty free at the airport. Reception staff were lovely and very helpful but we were charged €1 a copy when printing our boarding passes. I have to take issue with cleaning staff being branded theifs, my jewellery was left on the table every day as well as leaving various devices on charge while we were out and nothing was touched. As for the location, if you turn right coming out of the apartments and down the stairs it takes you to the shops and the beach, turn right and go down the hill past Club Santa Ponds and go right at bottom it takes you to the Square where there is a plethora of shops restaurants and pubs. There's also a taxi rank if you're too lazy to hike back up, me and hubby are in our fifties and managed both hill and stairs with no problem. The view from the top is worth it. The hotel provided a decent hairdryer and the t.v. was ok too, we didn't bother paying for Wi-Fi but for €6 you can have a pint of San Miguel a lovely chilled glass of wine and the Wi-fi password in The Caledonian pub where you can check your E-mails , put your photos on Facebook or FaceTime the grandkids. We really enjoyed our holiday here and most definitely be back.

Just back from a long weekend with 2 friends. Apartment is spacious and clean with hot water at all times of day. Sat on the balcony overlooking the pool and sea in the evening was lovely. Yes there are steps but they aren’t that bad and in fact the walk around instead meant we stumbled across a whole other area of restaurants! It’s quiet and far enough away from the ‘strip’. We didn’t use the pool, bar or courtesy bus but would happily come back again! We checked in around 1am and it was a quick process. We had to leave a €50 deposit which we did but half way through I got it back and gave my credit card instead.

Just home from a 4 (actually 5 - thanks Ryanair...) night stay here.

Booked about 3 weeks before our holiday via booking.com - about £250 for 4 nights for me and a friend.
We were on a tight budget and there were not many options left!

Sent a message with the booking requesting to check in an hour early and this was accommodated.
Reception staff friendly enough when checking in.
€50 refundable deposit required but we were exempt due to it being a booking.com reservation.
The reception area had a selection of water (2L €1.40), soft drinks, loaves, crisps, chocolate, etc to purchase.
There's a computer you can pay to use and staff printed our boarding passes for us for no charge.

Rooms were very spacious and they were clean. Twin beds and sofa bed in the "studio" we stayed in.
Decent sized balcony with plastic furniture and drying rail.
Lovely view of Santa Ponsa beach from room 241.
Not much storage space in the rooms. Safe deposit box broken... Lock broken off bathroom door.
Kitchen area had two rings and a microwave oven which we didn't use. Decent sized fridge that was cold enough, fridge and toaster. 4 lots of cutlery, cups, plates, etc.
Clean bathroom towels but bathtub and fixtures a bit aged and discoloured.
I didn't sleep very well on the trip but the air con was right above my bed and it took us a while to get the temperature right so not too grudging about that!
Towels changed once in our initial 4 days and while this doesn't bother me the beds were not re-made so not sure if the rooms were cleaned.

Apartments did not provide any pool towels to hire which I was quite disappointed with.
Pools themselves looked clean.
The first sun loungers we used looked like they could have done with a bit of a scrub but all fine after that
Pool bar served drinks, light snacks etc. Decent tuna sandwich for €4.20 but the ham and cheese one was a bit lacking in ham and cheese!
They had music playing from the pool bar which was quite good. Not too loud and you could easily move out of hearing range.

I'd read about the stairs prior to staying here. 200+ very steep stairs going up and down to main street and a few more down to the beach. Me and my friend are fit enough but we had burning calves for the first few days for sure!
I believe there's a slightly longer route without stairs but I'd say the accommodation would be pretty unsuitable for anyone with mobility needs.
There are also a fair few stairs up and down to the pool and up to apartments. There are very small and old lifts in each building. They look a bit iffy but we had no problems when we used them.

Ryanair cancelled our first flight home the night before we were due to leave. The hotel were helpful enough due to them having 2 spare rooms available for booking. We had to move rooms in the morning but we got straight into our next room.

Overall it was totally fine. We were on a tight budget and had no real issues. In future I'd be hoping to save up a bit more and stay somewhere a little bit more upmarket and a little nearer to the centre of the resort.

And we really enjoyed Santa Ponsa - predominantly Irish visitors and Irish bars, plenty of live music, etc. Busy at the weekend with stag dos etc and noticeably quieter during the week now that we're into September.
